French game developer Ubisoft recently signed a content deal with Netflix for its best-selling video game franchise. The deal included the production of live-action, animated, and anime series based on the popular game franchise Assassin’s Creed.

The first one out of these three will be the live-action series. Although this is not the first live-action content based on the game as there was a film in 2016, it is definitely the first series.

Variety reports that the team has already completed Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik as executive producers. However, they are now looking for a showrunner for the first series.

Therefore, Peter also said that they are going to carefully craft an experience for the audience. Moreover, he also assured the fans that they are going to take such an important commitment seriously. Overall, Peter thinks Netflix will “provide a deeper dive for fans and our members around the world to enjoy.

Assassin’s Creed is one of the highest-selling and most popular video game series ever made. Therefore, it is natural that it has a huge fanbase and Netflix will have to ensure they don’t disappoint them. The 2016 film was not much of a hit with fans, and it received criticism from gamers. Netflix will want to avoid repeating the same mistakes if they want to please fans.
