Manchester United and Serbia midfielder Nemanja Matic has spoken about Manchester United?s disappointing last season and is confident that the club will bounce back under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.?

The 30-year old has not had the greatest two years at Old Trafford after his promising move from Chelsea in 2017. Mati? is still to lift major silverware with Manchester United after winning two Premier League titles and an FA Cup in his time at Stamford Bridge.?

However, the Serbian international has ensured that Manchester United will be ?ready? for next season. ?We [must] think positively. We want to win trophies, so I think everyone needs to be ready?, he said.

Matic indicated that he is personally ?excited? for the new campaign. ?Last summer, because we had the World Cup, we had a shorter holiday and didn’t have as much time to rest. I’m getting excited about the new season. But I won’t look at the fixtures a lot because you have to look game by game. In football, it’s not good to think about a game that comes later, so you need to be focused always on the next challenge?, he added.

But recent reports have suggested that the Manchester United hierarchy is looking at potential suitors for Nemanja Matic. The Serb has not been an influential player on and off-the-field for the Reds?and is often found scrutinized for his lethargy and slow movement on the ball.

Last summer?s acquisition of Fred and the growth of Scott McTominay also does not help Matic?s case. Not to forget that Paul Pogba can also play a deeper role in midfield. The departure of Ander Herrera was a big blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Norwegian manager will need reinforcements in the defensive midfield department if Nemanja Mati? were to leave as well.?
