26-year-old Indian pacer, Ishant Sharma, has recovered from his knee injury and is all set to play for the Indian team in the one off test match against Bangladesh, starting from 10th of June in Fatullah. The right-arm medium pacer got injured during the test series between India and Australia, during the earlier part of the year, which was held in Australia.

In an interview ahead of the match, Ishant talked about the need to hit the right areas in the match, instead of concerning about the grass on the pitch or anything else. He said, “I don’t really look at the pitch; if there is grass or it is a flat track. When you have a ball in hand, it does not matter whether you bowl in turf or marble. You need to hit the right areas. We have certain plans according to the batsmen. We have to stick to it, set the fielding accordingly, keep doing your process and results will come.”

The leader of the pace attack of the current Indian test team also discussed about how he had learnt from senior bowlers such as Zaheer Khan and how he guides the fresh young talent in the team.  “When I was playing with Zaheer, he was telling me what to do and that is exactly what I do now with Varun and Umesh. I tell them when the ball is reversing and what field to set. But apart from my experience there is no difference, they are almost the same age as I am so everyone needs to step up and deliver the goods. Learning by themselves would also help them in the long run instead of me going to them and saying what not to do,” he said.

Hope to see him in good action in his comeback match!
