Further, he stands 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m) tall and weighs 193 lb (88 kg). Philip T. Handy, usually known as Phil Handy, is a remarkable American basketball assistant coach currently serving the HC of the Unrivaled Basketball League. He was a former assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and a player development trainer.

As a former player, he finished his collegiate career at Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and then professionally abroad. Phil Handy’s basketball journey began as a standout player for the Rainbows and later with teams like the Giants and Tigers. After preseason stints with the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers, Handy’s NBA career laid the foundation for his coaching success.

Starting as a development coach for the Lakers under Mike Brown, Handy later became an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, leading them to four NBA Finals and a championship in 2016. He helped the Toronto Raptors secure their first championship in 2019 before returning to the Lakers for another title in 2020 and an NBA Cup win in 2023.

Though his time with the Lakers ended with Darvin Ham’s departure, Handy’s talent ensures new opportunities are always on the horizon. Following his new journey as the HG for the coming league.
