The Villanova Wildcats started the season ranked as the third-best team in the country. Except for their one shock loss to Virginia Tech, they have lived up to these expectations so far.
They now travel to DC as they face the Georgetown Hoyas in their sixth game of the season. One cannot talk about this matchup without bringing up their 1985 Finals game, which was one of the most excellent displays of NCAA basketball.

This matchup has always been an exciting one, although it has been one-sided for years now. In their last ten games, the Wildcats have lost just once, back in February 2019.
Expected lineups
The Wildcats have an experienced team that has been performing well together so far. Sophomore forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl has been running the show so far, averaging 16.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. He has been one of their most consistent players, and he will be expected to lead them against the Hoyas too.
The Wildcats lineup will feature Caleb Daniels, Collin Gillespie, and Justin Moore as the guards, and Robinson-Earl and Jermaine Samuels as the forwards. They have a deep rotation with Cole Swider, Eric Dixon, and Brandon Slater to provide firepower off the bench.
Senior guard Jahvon Blair is leading the Hoyas this season, averaging 20.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Jamorko Pickett, another senior, has also been a force for them, averaging 14.3 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Blair, Donald Carey, and Jalen Haris will start as the guards for the Hoyas, while Pickett and Qutus Wahab will fill out the team.
An easy win incoming for the Villanova Wildcats?
The Hoyas are currently 2-2 in the season and are coming off a big win against Coppin State. They have a few experienced players like Blair and Pickett, but they have multiple transfers and younger players on the team. Comparatively, the Wildcats have better chemistry due to the amount of playing time together they have had now.

Patrick Ewing’s boys will certainly give a challenge to the Wildcats, but it will be too tough for them to overcome the three-time champions. The Wildcats are the favorites going into the game and will be expected to come away with a win.
