St. Peters is headed to Sweet 16 after their magical win against the Murray State in the second round. Their second win came days after their win over Kentucky?making them the third No. 15 seeded team to ever make it to Sweet 16. Naturally, fans had an emotional reaction to the win.

Truly, the team looks like they are on a mission and probably won’t stop before they give it their all.

Fans turn emotional after St. Peters win

While the win itself was the highlight, no one can ignore how emotional fans got. Additionally, Jersey City fans were shot going crazy with their celebrations. Nevertheless, their excitement was understood. This is a golden opportunity for the team, which will only hope to play their best basketball.

Another thing people loved is the uncertainty and surprise element that follows college basketball. Out of all the teams that were winning, St. Peters was unexpected. It brings forth more excitement, leaving fans delighted as the tournament progresses.

Along with the team and fans, coach Shaheen Holloway was over the moon. “These guys came out here on a mission,” he said. “Everybody keeps saying ‘we can’t do this, we can’t do that, we don’t have this, we don’t have that.’ We have heart, and that’s the only thing that matters.”

He further added that they have a good team. Because in the end, all kids want to play in the NCAA Tournament. In addition to that, Halloway remains proud of his team?who will now play on the big stage.

A small university located in Jersey City, this team has also put an end to Murray State’s winning streak. Philadelphia will host their Sweet 16 game.
