Curt Cignetti is renowned for making sweeping claims and making strange prophecies. He boldly declared a successful 2024 season before assuming control. Despite their early promise, the Hoosiers’ momentum has waned, and they are no longer in the running for the Big 10 and CFP. Now, Cignetti is accusing CFP of being unfair to Indiana, showing their bias with the Michigan example.

Last Thursday, the Hoosiers defeated Purdue 66-0 to wrap up an 11-1 regular campaign. With a seed of 10th in the last CFP bracket, Indiana would have to travel for their first-round matchup. Before the Big 10 Title Game between PSU and Ducks, Cignetti argued for his program to take over the first-round CFP game on CBS. On December 8, CBS shared an IG video clip with the caption,Curt Cignetti makes his case.

As per the clip, Cignetti stated,Here’s my question. Right now there are six one-loss teams in the country. Okay, we lost to the second ranked team on the road, and Penn State lost to the fourth-ranked team at home. Texas lost to the fifth-ranked team at home. Boise lost his seventh-ranked team. Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois, and that’s a loss to an unknown at the time they played. So how are we not right now seated for a home game? That’s what I want to know.

Not only this, but Cignetti mentioned Indiana’s year-long domination and even eliminated the games that weren’t in the Power 4, stating,P4 only. We’re outscoring people 40 to 17. That’s second in the country. So because our name is Indiana and Michigan, ninth in the CFP, yeah, here’s my question, right? It merely shows that the HC’s fury at the CFP community’s partiality stems from the fact that his squad is an underappreciated brand.

However, Cignetti proves his worth once more in the midst of all of this. Big 10 coaches now look up to him because of his championship mindset.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Curt Cignetti right about CFP bias, or is Indiana just not a top contender?

Curt Cignetti’s program is killing it this season!

Remember when Cignetti predicted the program would have a 10-win campaign before taking over as HC? Indeed, he has beyond himself. Furthermore, it is undeniable that theGoogle meguy has accomplished everything. They went from a miserable 3-W season to an outstanding 11-W one under the rookie head coach’s leadership this season. Did you know the Hoosiers won 9 times before, back in ’45 and ’67?

Some great titles are required for it. On Tuesday, December 3, IU’s Cignetti was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year. He becomes the third coach in the program’s history to be honored with this honor, after Tom Allen and Bill Mallory. This is nothing new to Cignetti, however. He could, after all, employ his supernatural trick wherever he wanted. The IU HC thus received his fourth NCAA Coach of the Year award.

The year before, he and James Madison were awarded Sun Belt Coaches of the Year. Before that, he and Elon had earned the Colonial Athletic Association’s Coach of the Year title in 2017. Now, with his long list of accomplishments, who better to govern Indiana than Cignetti? Cignetti is an important group member, regardless of how the season turns out.
