Caitlin Clark may have moved on to the professional league to cement her place in history books further, but Iowa still remains an important part of her life. From friends like Gabby Marshall and Kate Martin to the love of her life, Connor, her memories from her collegiate basketball career are just adorable. But there’s still a bond that has been out of sight for many.
It’s her playful and lovable relationship with Hawkeyes star Jada Gyamfi. Every time Gyamfi posts online, Clark can’t resist responding in the comment sections. This time was no different. On Tuesday, the forward shared a glimpse of her latest photoshoot, stunning in a black tee paired with ripped denim.
“RIP Derek Shepherd, you would’ve loved me,” she penned. And there was CC. But it wasn’t as everyone would’ve expected. “More ball, less photoshoots and Ferris wheel rides 💯😀,” she taunted.

It seems like the playful banter between Caitlin Clark and Jada Gyamfi is far from over. Just last month, when Gyamfi shared a video of herself dancing with teammate Hannah Stulke, Clark couldn’t resist hopping into the comment section. “More film and sleeping. Less TikTok,” she quipped.
But it’s not all teasing and fun. When Clark came back with the Athlete of the Year trophy, Gyamfi’s comment was filled with love: “I love you, Boo.” Her affection for the 22-year-old Iowa native is obvious.
“She absolutely loves hugs and being around her friends and family,” Gyamfi shared on Press Box banter. “She’s so lovey. She’s just so cute. You’d never guess it based on how she carries herself during games.” While their bond has grown stronger over the years, the team they once shared isn’t in the best shape right now, making a case for Clark’s more recent comment.
Amid Iowa’s Big Ten struggles, eyes on Jada Gyamfi to step up.
Iowa, who made it to the finals last year against South Carolina, is struggling. They’ve been trailing from start to finish, blowing double-digit fourth-quarter leads. Free throws are being missed, and turnovers are piling up.

And if that wasn’t enough, they’re now on a five-game losing streak, the longest since 2013. With a 12-7 overall record and a 2-6 mark in the Big Ten, things are looking tough for them. The Hawkeyes face Washington this Wednesday at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, a game that’s crucial for both teams.
With only 10 games left before the Big Ten Tournament, Iowa is currently one of the last four teams in the NCAA field according to ESPN, and Washington is in a similar position. The pressure is mounting, and now, it’s up to Gyamfi to step up and fill the void left by Clark.

As of now, Gyamfi is averaging two points per game with a 71.4% field goal percentage. But will she be able to shine when Iowa needs her the most?
