Shedeur Sanders: Overhyped or the real deal? Let's hear your thoughts!

Sometimes, a simple statement can take the conversation to a whole new level just as what happened between Colorado alum Matt McChesney and Deion Sanders’ biggest critic Coach Jason Brown. Shedeur Sanders got into the spotlight again after Week 3’s win against CSU. This time, it’s not for throwing shade at his teammates, rather, it’s a gesture snub that sets the media talking.

CSU QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi took a jab at Colorado saying they’ll see how far social media takes them. He even flashed a rude gesture to Travis Hunter amid a losing game. Shedeur Sanders didn’t make any remarks until the end of the game where they thrashed CSU 28-9 and refused to shake hands with the Rams QB. See how this topic escalated to Coach JB losing control over his emotions.

On September 17, when Matt McChesney backed Shedeur Sanders’ handshake snub on the CSU QB as the perfect payback for their trash talk, it triggered a fiery response from Coach JB who yelled, “Y’all were 4-8 last year and you talk more than anybody else in America. Stop acting like you guys are saints.”

This scene happened in the new YouTube episode on The Coach JB Show when McChesney stated, “If CSU and everyone else wants Colorado to respect them, shut your f—— mouth and just play football.” Coach JB interrupted McChesney as he attempted to dig out the past of Colorado falling 4-8 last season. When the Colorado alum brought him back to the present saying they’re 2-1 now, it triggered an exasperated version of Coach JB leading to his outburst.

The past can come back to haunt just as Coach JB is trying to belittle Colorado with their past record but the Buffs are fixated on turning the program this season.

Shedeur Sanders is taking one game at a time

Colorado started this season on a bright note with a win against NDSU amid heavy speculation. While their season opener made a great foundation, their blowout loss against Nebraska in Week 2 rekindled the probability of last season’s season’s loss when they started losing after Week 3. But they managed to make a comeback with their performance at the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

Shedeur Sanders: Overhyped or the real deal? Let's hear your thoughts!

Have an interesting take?

Shedeur Sanders performed well at Canvas Stadium despite tribulations in the form of pressure coming from the media regarding his behavior in the last loss. He completed 36 of 49 passes with 310 yards and four TDs and even earned the respect of a critic who finally understood Shedeur for what he is. Yeah! It was Jason Fitz, the Fox Sports radio host, who confessed to throwing the Buffs QB under the bus a few times. But he was impressed by Shedeur’s performance after all the criticism. Fitz praised how Shedeur played “a really focused, tight, accurate game” and added, “I thought it was a statement to who he can be as a quarterback.”

Well, the Buffs may be 2-1 now but it’s still early to say what could happen down the road. But for now, let the Buffs bask in their glory!
