When the star player fumbles, Mike Norvell and Co. know the sting all too well.  Their top favorite and star QB, around whom they had pinned all their hopes, DJ Uaigalelei, tumbled down like a Jenga tower. While it has been the ‘talk of the down’, New England Patriots legend poured in to share his take on the Uiagalelei mishap on September 2 night. The NFL legend’s analysis might propel FSU to take it as a warning to find a replacement for their star QB. And don’t worry; Norvell’s quarterback search just got a lot easier thanks to Seminoles fans who handed Norvell a shiny new quarterback option.

After September 2, FSU vs. Boston College face-off, it would take some time for the Seminoles fans to recover from the heartache. Hardly did anyone expect Mike Norvell’s squad to get thrashed so badly by the Eagles. One such fan is none other than the NFL legend, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. As he sat with a heart-to-heart discussion with Shannon Sharpe, his frustration was evident as he stated, “I’m upset it makes me sick as a resident of the State of Florida I’m embarrassed.”

What pains his heart more was witnessing “the best college football team in Tallahassee” undergoing such a fate. As expected, Johnson handed the blame trophy to their QB DJ Uiagalelei who came up with a poor play, not being able to be a threat for the Eagles, and instead ended up getting snubbed. Johnson then dropped a brutal jab for Uiagalelei, “You can’t compete at any level whether it’s PV, Junior High, flag football, college high school in the NFL it comes down the most important position on the field the quarterback position.”

While the NFL star blasted out at the QB’s performance he had also raised FSU’s attention. It’s high time that Norvell takes the matter into his own hands to flip the QB coin. But wait! The FSU fans’ new chant is enough for the HC to pick up the hints.

Fan favorite emerges amidst DJ Uiagalelei’s grand fumble

Guess what’s the latest cheer the Seminoles fans have come up with? It’s ‘We want Brock.’ No brownie points for guessing who Brock is. It’s none other than FSU’s backup QB Brock Glenn. The second-year player has been a former three-star recruit. Before heading to Norvell’s program, Brock had been at Memphis (TN) Lausanne Collegiate School.

What’s your perspective on:

Is DJ Uiagalelei really overrated, or is he just a victim of unrealistic expectations?

Have an interesting take?

Even though skepticism reigns supreme over whether he can bring the amount of experience to the table that Uiagalelei is privileged with, his stats do the talking. As per the On3 Industry ranking, the new fan-favorite was the No. 465 overall recruit for the 2023 cycle. While Brock serves as the backup he did get a prime chance to showcase his talents when Jordan Travis got injured.

Brock Glenn’s numbers are enough to work as a balm soothing FSU from their latest DJ Uiagalelei burn. He carries a completion percentage of 36.2% and went for a total of 194 yards. Now Mike Norvell is at the crossroads to replay the Uiagalelei tragedy or embark on a new adventure.
