The USC Trojans have been down with a statement loss against the Michigan Wolverines in their week 4 game. The game-changing shocker in Ann Arbor came at the final moment of the showdown when the Trojans’ Big 10 opponent scored an impressive touchdown. USC made a tremendous comeback after the first half, but it did all but give them the prize.

While you may doubt Miller Moss’s decision-making ability following the tragic finishing, veteran analyst Joel Klatt doesn’t find any sense in passing all the buck on just the typical ‘Superman’ of the game.

Miller Moss was only the scapegoat of a cluttered offense during USC against Michigan

In a zoomed-out discussion on his podcast, Klatt sees issues in the entire offensive setup of the program as they not only crushed in Week 4 but also faced a similar collapse against LSU. ‘‘Miller was just incredible in that game and he was trying to go against Michigan as well but it was just too much, Josaiah Stewart was terrific, that defensive line was just too much for USC and they couldn’t hold up, that has to get better and then he makes one mistake and Will Johnson takes it back for the pick six.’‘, he elucidated pointing out a generic loophole in the team.

The clear crux of the case is Moss was just the frontman of a shattered offense. The USC offensive line should give him time to make a play. While it’s undeniable that he needs to be more neat and composed with releasing the ball to escape sacks, in a pressure mindset, the accuracy shivers. But if he could have gotten more time before the moves, a sound, non-tired mind could have seen the defenders lurking nearby.

Is Lincoln Riley the right man for the job, or is it time for a coaching change?

Have an interesting take?

“If Lincoln would get back to that run game he had at OU.. maybe they don’t have that horses up front to do that… anyway I think that’s their worst matchup”, concluded the football stalwart who still believes in the dead resilience of the USC troops ahead of a more fierce week 5.

Can USC bounce back with a better passing game against the Badgers next week?

This is certainly not the end of the world for the Trojans. Especially the energy they put into coming into the second half, it was clear that they are here for the long haul. At the extreme, the 24-27 defeat could only be a much-needed wake-up call for Lincoln Riley, who had admitted that he should call a better drive before Michigan regained the momentum and took the game in their favor.

However, when it comes to the physical tenacity factor, the USC HC wanted to put it on a mediocre scale. He thinks the team sometimes ran the ball quite well, but the other times, the momentum fluctuated. So, it was a back-and-forth kinda display on the whole. The only major issues he spotted in the game were the big plays. This is the red zone that he will probably scrutinize before heading to the Week 5 battle against the Wisconsin Badgers.

They also need to do a lot of work with the line of scrimmage they will play and a weak passing offense and, most definitely, should brace themselves up for many more muck-it-up games going forward. If they can critically evaluate and fill the void, the Big 10 opener shakeup might turn into a pleasant upturn next week in LA Memorial Coliseum.
