Jalen Milroe has no plans for the future. When questioned about how he makes choices regarding the 2025 NFL Draft, the Bama QB replied that he is locked into the individuals he is now in the bunker with. Those who contributed their all to the Tide’s 2024 season. When all of that is going on, what does Kalen DeBoer’s QB1 have planned for next year? Will he stay? Going to the NFL? or relocating? Given these possible uncertainties, Jalen Milroe today expresses his sincere gratitude to Alabama.
To show his sincere gratitude for the program, Jalen Milroe posted some photos of himself with the academic “regalia” on December 15 along with the message, “A lot to be thankful for.” Additionally, he wrote on Instagram, “When a blessing is meant for you, nothing in this world can stop it. 🙏🏿#blackexcellence.” It just shows that the star quarterback didn’t become upset about Heisman’s rebuff. And went on to successfully finish his master’s degree in both hospitality management and sports management.

The images of Milroe just convey the “I did it!” mentality. Thus, it displays the 5-star quarterback’s confidence and skill. Why not? Milroe completed 189 of 287 passes for 2,652 yards this season, which included 10 interceptions and 15 passing TDs. With a passing efficiency rating of 153.8, he was ranked 18th overall and 2nd among SEC QBs. In addition, he was a superb rusher, gaining 719 rushing yards on 152 tries and scoring an outstanding 20 rushing TDs.
Not to be overlooked, Milroe created a new Alabama record for the most rushing TDs by a quarterback in a single game. When he ran for 185 yards and scored 4 rushing touchdowns versus LSU. The main question now is why the athlete did not make the Heisman finalist list after having such a remarkable performance.

During his successful season, Milroe not only threw for 2,232 yards and 15 touchdowns, but he also contributed significantly on the ground. However, his overall statistics were not as strong as those of this year’s most prominent Trophy contenders. But Milroe has an evident dual-threat skill. Among the 2024 Heisman contenders, were players that not only had exceptional stats but also made an impression in pivotal moments. For instance, Travis Hunter’s two-way effort against Colorado and Jeanty’s explosive rushing figures put them ahead of Milroe.
Furthermore, Heisman voters have historically favored athletes who perform well under duress or who stand out in pivotal games. Despite some impressive performances, such as a standout game vs Georgia, Milroe might not have been able to surpass the opposition when it came time to cast his ballot. So, that’s why Milroe isn’t in the final round.
Despite missing out on the Heisman finalists list, Milroe was recognized for his achievements in both athletics and academia, winning the William V. Campbell Trophy. It refers to the “academic Heisman.” This honor demonstrates his influence on and off the field by highlighting his leadership, intellectual prowess, and athletic accomplishments.
