Everyone was sweating during the Baylor game and Shedeur Sanders had only a few seconds to take it to overtime. With all the trust he could muster, he threw his first Hail Mary to Will Sheppard. And it was a miss. It was LaJohntay Wester’s catch that saved the Buffs and pushed the game to overtime. Will Sheppard needed redemption, and redemption he found as the Buffs fight it off against the UCF Knights.

At the 0:10 mark in the first quarter, Shedeur Sanders threw a 47-yard pass, and guess what? Will Sheppard caught it. So, Sheppard’s father couldn’t stop himself from singing praises of his son on X. “Will Sheppard ladies and gents…. 🤨,” Willie Sheppard wrote in his latest post on X. The dude from Vanderbilt ain’t someone you wanna take lightly. Having marched 2000 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns already, Sheppard was one of the best recruits Deion Sanders could’ve picked for the Buffs.

The perfect thing about him is that he amazingly compliments Shedeur’s accuracy. Sheppard had locked in a top speed of around 20MPH. Shedeur, with his throws, and Sheppard, with his speed, are a formidable force for the Colorado offense. Even during the preseason practice, we saw how good Sheppard was with his skills on the turf. “Will Sheppard comin for everything this season,” was something ToxicBuffsFan had shared on X back on July 31st.

After Sheppard’s catch, even Stephen A. Smith couldn’t stop himself from singing the guy’s praise. “That was one helluva throw from @shadeurrrr and one spectacular catch from Will Sheppard,” Smith noted. And we know that this guy will manage to pull a lot more as the Buffs go in further into their schedule.

However, he ain’t the only star you gotta keep your eye on. LaJohntay Wester is making some waves for the Buffs. People first started noticing him properly after the Hail Mary catch and a touchdown, which pushed the Buffs into overtime.

A whole lineup of stars

Back on September 26th, Wester noted during an episode of Reach The People, “I feel like we really have a shot at winning the natty.” While the Buffs as the national champs is a far-fetched dream, what we can say for sure is that after Hunter leaves for the NFL next year, this guy is going to be the next big deal for Deion Sanders and Colorado.

To be able to follow a 43-yard pass while being surrounded by defenders ain’t an easy task. However, Wester made it look like a piece of cake. And it’s kind of funny to think that at the end of the day, Wester joining the Buffs was a result of Shedeur Sanders being there.

“Um, Shedeur man. He played a big role in it, like me coming here,” Wester had noted. After the 2023 season was over, Wester hit up Shedeur and Deion, and the rest was history. His connection with the Buffs QB was what made him decide to switch to Coach Prime. And Buffs fans would be glad he did. Let us know what you guys expect this amazing WR and Will Sheppard to achieve as the Buffs continue their 2024 run.
