Georgia Bulldogs star cornerback Daniel Harris might be a no-show for their big game against Kentucky. Well, he got arrested just 48 hours before the Bulldogs’ showdown against the Kentucky Wildcats. That’s a major blow for the Bulldogs, especially since Harris was a key part of their defense. Why was Daniel arrested, and will he be playing against the Wildcats by any chance?
According to the reports, the Athens Clarke County police department arrested Daniel around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday night for careless driving charges. Daniel was going 106 miles per hour, which was 41 mph over the designated speed limit. However, he was released on bail within an hour before midnight after paying $10 on each charge. Coming to Daniel Harris’s playing status for Georgia’s upcoming match against Kentucky, there is still no official confirmation from either side. It looks like, Daniel Harris will still be playing for the team, as the police haven’t put any restrictions on him.

DUIs and the Bulldogs seem to go hand-in-hand. It’s been reported that almost 30 players have been arrested since 2023 for breaking team rules. And it’s getting worse, with Daniel Harris being the latest. In fact, he’s facing even more than the initial charges reported. The cornerback was found without proof of insurance and had obstructive materials on his car windows or windshield. Moreover, Harris was discovered to be driving without a seatbelt and in an unregistered vehicle. But he was released at 11:49 on the same day on a $50 bond.

Even former Bulldog star quarterback Brock Vandagriff, who is now playing for Kentucky, couldn’t do much for the team. He just ran for 30 yards and could only get 10 pass attempts against South Carolina. His Wildcats defense struggled throughout the match last week. It will be interesting to see how they hold up their game against Georgia. However, the Georgia Bulldogs have always given them a hard time, as they won 14 straight games against Kentucky since 1939, which is the longest in the tournament.
