Does Shilo Sanders deserve those exclusive cleats, or is it just Coach Prime's influence at play?

Colorado will see action from safety Shilo Sanders in their Week 7 game against Kansas State. But before that, he’s already making headlines with the new Nike LeBron Prime shoes generating envy among his teammates. But how did he get it? Because he’s the son of Deion Sanders? Well, Shilo’s answer will surprise you.

In a new YouTube episode on Well Off Media on October 11, Deion Sanders Jr. captured a moment between the father and son where Deion Sanders asked Shilo Sanders to show off the $180-worth cleats to the camera. As his son flexed the cleats, Coach Prime boasted, “Special made. Damn, I wonder who’s your dad! How’d you get special cleats?” But the 24-year-old quickly shut down his father’s pride saying, “‘Cause I was there when you met with him and I asked him personally.”

Deion Sanders and NBA legend LeBron James, who are both sneaker geniuses, are reportedly collaborating to release iconic creations in 2025. It will see a design fusion with James’ Nike LeBron 21 signature model. As a highly exclusive product, even the Buffs two-way star couldn’t hide his jealousy when Shilo got a pair and not him.

With Shilo missing three games, Travis Hunter casually voiced his disappointment saying, “Yeah, he got LeBron Primes on. Give to the wrong people. I see lots of other guys. He has been here for three weeks, and he got the C before everybody else.” As Hunter added, the safety doesn’t even wear them much. What do you think of Shilo Sanders getting those cleats? And do you think he’s going to impact Colorado with his return?

Deion Sanders is excited about Shilo Sanders’ return

Shilo Sanders was coming on strong this season recording 11 tackles before he injured his forearm in Week 2’s 28-10 loss against Nebraska. This led to surgery that sidelined him for their next three wins but Deion Sanders announced this Tuesday that he’s ready to return. He voiced his excitement of having his son back on the field saying, “Shilo’s ready. He’s practicing. He’s full go. Had a rubber cast on. He’s doing his thing. I can’t wait to see him back there.”

Shilo Sanders was a prominent player in Colorado’s defense who led last season with 70 tackles and four forced fumbles. The Buffs welcome him back with open arms because they need all the best players for their upcoming game which is going to be their first ranked opponent of the season. Besides, this game will also act as a major determiner for their chance to top the Big 12. The Wildcats are a 5.5-point favorite over the Buffaloes in their upcoming matchup at Folsom Field. But who knows, an upset could happen to No. 18 Kansas State who are also 4-1 into the season.
