Is Cam Coleman the next big thing for Auburn, or just another overhyped freshman?

Auburn Tigers’ WR Cam Coleman has always been ahead of his years since he was a kid growing up in the suburbs of Phenix City, Alabama. The 18-year-old was born with the zeal for sport in his veins as his father Bobby Coleman actively pursued football in his college days. An undying passion and ideal parenting carved out the path for the kid to embark on a journey to become a brand even before he loses the teenage stamp.

Cam might be the next generational star in the making with a No. 2 wide receiver tag in the whole country. He might have mounted a huge record of more than 1,300 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns heading to a state championship stint as a veteran at Central-Phenix City. He might even head to the current season as the most promising Wide Receiver that the entire team is looking up to, but he’s still a kid, a dewy-eyed kid.

”My mom used to tell me, ‘You’re going to see when you move on your own how much you eat.’ I didn’t realize it, I miss her”, a homesick boy divulged his concern about bringing groceries alone right after he moved away from his home a few months back.

When Cam Coleman first dipped his feet into Auburn’s locker room in January snubbing the Texas A&M, his age didn’t allow him to earn the right to vote, get a credit card, or have a sway in any internal matters. However, he was more than capable of fostering the team’s growth with his high-impact performances and magnetic presence.

It’s not just Cam’s impressive pass-catching touchdowns that contributed to Auburn’s increased brilliance, rather his top-tier star power dramatically boosted the team’s brand equity. The quintessential offensive man headed to the season as the most sensational newbie to watch out for. While the 6 ft 3 is yet to bring out his best for the spell, the injury bugs pulled the rug.

Cam Coleman is at risk of missing the entire season following a grave shoulder injury

The freshman WR’s shoulder injury was an added upset to Auburn’s Last week’s defeat against Cal. When Auburn players were busy with the pregame warmups with just less than 90 minutes until kickoff, the camera spotted a non-uniformed Coleman. His street clothes came off as a huge sign that he was temporarily out even before the report officially vouched for it.

Have an interesting take?

The team had to deal with New Mexico on Saturday night without one of the nation’s most coveted recruits of the country, but thankfully it didn’t affect much. Despite a slow start in the first half, with an unstoppable offense, the Tigers easily claimed a win in the final call. However, Coleman must make a quick return not to miss a stunning chance to capitalize on his already-recorded four catches for 115 yards and a touchdown in the season. But as coach Hugh Freeze sees, the young prodigy’s status is doubtful, worth raising concerns among the fans for his potential unavailability in the rest of the games.
