Partners can really help each other grow. It’s like they adopt each other’s traits and become a stronger team. That makes sense, right? Take Tyler Shough and his wife for example. Tyler, the Louisville Cardinals quarterback, is finishing up his college career this year. He’s played for Oregon, and Texas Tech, and even hit the transfer portal last year. But through it all, his future wife has been his biggest supporter.
She’s an athlete herself, so she totally gets the grind of being a pro. Even though she doesn’t play football, they have that connection. It’s clear she’s way more than just a quarterback’s wife. And the ‘she’ behind the QB’s success is none other than Jordan Shough!

Brandy and Derek Wormdahl welcomed Jordan Wormdahl into the world in Eugene, Oregon. At North Eugene High School, where Jordan first took up soccer, she scored 67 goals and provided 56 assists in her four years of prep school at North Eugene, and even won the 2017 Oregon 5A State Player of the Year award. In 2018, she made her collegiate soccer commitment to the Oregon Ducks. What’s even more fascinating is that Tyler moved to Oregon in the same year. Did they know one another back then? Perhaps, perhaps not.
However, in terms of her specialty, Jordan went in her mother’s footsteps. Yes, her mother, Brandy, played for the Oregon State women’s soccer team. As of now, the most fascinating detail is that she has been Jordan’s coach since she was a small child. While playing for Oregon State, her mother was named the 1987 Midwestern League Player of the Year. On top of this, Brandy had a blast in college and ended up coaching soccer at North Eugene in 1996.

Conversely, Derek Wormdahl, Jordan’s father, is Oregon’s Director of Solutions Development and Data Services. So, you see, Jordan and the University of Oregon are like peas in a pod. But wait a moment! She eventually connected with Texas Tech. Why? Due to Tyler, her future husband, she did switch from Oregon to Texas Tech. And that’s when he dropped the big question — what a magnificent story!
Did Tyler Shough use his NIL Deal to propose?
The two were initially seen together on Jordan’s Instagram profile on March 30, 2019. Then, on May 14, 2022, Tyler Shough used an NIL offer to pop his proposal to his long-term partner in Mexico. The couple was on vacation in Mexico when Tyler suggested they visit Cabo San Lucas. While she preferred to relax on the beach, Tyler wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to get some new photos for his NIL contract with Thacker Jewelry. He explained that summer was approaching and he needed to update his Instagram.

Subsequently, Wormdahl went with the flow and executed the shot’s routine before Shough guided her down the beach and toward the ocean. That’s when he revealed that their real reason for being there was not to view the ‘Gram, but rather to receive a marriage proposal. Great surprise! But “the whole process was very nerve-racking for me. I was probably more nervous than I was playing football just because I was trying to make sure everything went smoothly,” explained Tyler.
Then, on April 6, 2024, the pair tied the knot. Despite not being with Texas Tech at the moment, the quarterback invited head coach Joey McGuire to their wedding because of his close relationship. Currently, the pair is content with their new marriage. Well, you can simply go and take a look at their Insta stories for some good ‘awe’ moments.
