Our hearts go out to Jack Bech and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time following the tragic death of Tiger Bech. Tiger, a former Princeton football player, died on Wednesday morning after sustaining injuries from a vehicle attack in New Orleans. He was just 28 years old.
Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Tiger was a wide receiver and punt returner for the Princeton football team from 2015 to 2018. The wide receiver was also a proud member of the Cottage Club and earned an A.B. in sociology. He was not only good at football but at business as well. As soon as he graduated, he decided to move to New York City and work as a sales representative. He worked at LiveAction for two years and then progressed to a trader role at Seaport Global Holdings LLC.
College Football Home on X confirmed Tiger’s death, tweeting, “Prayers up to the Bech family🙏.” They noted that Tiger had been a WR/PR for Princeton and highlighted his younger brother, Jack, who had an impressive season with over 1,000 receiving yards at TCU.

When and how did the tragic incident occur? The accident took place on the first day of 2025. A man drove a pickup truck into crowds celebrating the New Year in New Orleans. The Beck family is not the only one that has lost a family member. More than ten people lost their lives, and many others were injured. The FBI is currently investigating the attack as an act of terrorism.
Tiger loved football and during his time at Princeton, he earned second-team All-Ivy League honors as a return specialist for two consecutive seasons. In 2018, the Louisiana native played a significant role in helping Princeton achieve the highest-scoring offense in Ivy League history and led the team to an undefeated record in the league for the first time since 1964. Over his career at Princeton, he caught 53 passes for 825 yards.
