Ohio has always been a special place for Brian Heartline. The Buckeyes’ offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach is a local boy. Born in Canton, Ohio, Hartline made his dream of representing Ohio State come true during his college days. He was a pivotal part of the Buckeyes team that made the 2008 BCS National Championship Game, as he averaged 13.3 yards per reception with an impressive 52 catches for 694 yards.
The local boy then transitioned from a college receiver to an NFL receiver as he made his professional debut for the Miami Dolphins. After six seasons in Florida, Hartline headed to Cleveland. Where he would put his playing days behind him after just a single season as a Brown. After wondering about what the future holds for him. Hartline headed back to where it all started for him in Ohio. Coaching was next on the cards for the former NFL receiver, as he started his journey as a graduate assistant in 2017.

Hartline was made a permanent part of the Buckeyes squad, and success soon followed. He was named to the AFCA “35 Under 35” Leadership Institute, which recognizes future leaders in football coaching. More success followed him, as he went from WR coach to passing game coordinator and now to offensive coordinator of the Buckeyes. Hartline has now cemented his name as one of the top recruiters and talent developers in the Country and continues to shine for Ohio State.

Although football occupies a significant amount of Hartline’s time and attention, when he’s not on the field, he likes to spend his time with his lovely wife, Kara Hartline. Brian’s wife is successful in her own right, as Heartline’s wife serves as a labor and delivery nurse at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s in Columbus, Ohio.
Interestingly, she is also a graduate of Ohio State, similar to her husband. So, it’s safe to assume that the couple met during their college days for the first time. After graduating from Ohio State, Kara then explored her true calling, which was being a nurse, and decided to follow that. This led her to Capital University, where she earned he Bachelor of Nursing degree in 2014. The couple have been together through all this and helped each other in their respective professions and, at the same time, enjoyed their married life so far.

As mentioned, Brain Hartline hails from Canton, Ohio, and is the son of Dale Hartline and Laurie Hartline. Brian’s parents have always been his biggest supporters and cheered for him from his high school days to his college and then NFL days. Dale knows his son pretty well a testament to which is an incident that took place when Brian was released by the Dolphins.
He knew that Brian could’ve stayed in Florida had he agreed to a pay cut. Dale said, “He was tired of living in Florida,” Suggesting Brian was homesick. Soon, he knew that his son wanted to be in Ohio. He did, as he signed with the Browns for a single season before calling it quits from professional football.

Brian and Kara have known each other since their college days. However, a lot has changed since then as the couple are now parents to three beautiful children- two sons, Brayden and Kameron, and a lovely daughter, Brooklyn. Kara is pretty active on social media and regularly posts about the family’s life. She gives updates on her three children as well as her husband.
