Notre Dame needs three more victories to capture CFB’s biggest prize, and they are vying for their first national title since 1988. However, one member on the Irish team already possesses a national title ring. “He’s a playmaker, man!” That’s Jordan Faison, a sophomore WR and the university’s prodigy in two sports. In May, he and Notre Dame lacrosse won a national title. As a true freshman midfielder, he started all 17 games and led the Irish to their second consecutive championship. Fashion has a super long and cool history with football.

Faison was a walk-on when he started his first football career at Notre Dame. But halfway through the season, he was awarded a football scholarship. With five catches, 115 yards, and a touchdown in a 48-8 beat-down of Oregon State, he was named the 2023 Sun Bowl MVP. In his final football season as a freshman, Faison caught 19 passes for 322 yards and 4 TDs.

Faison has been trying to win his second title in a single year. He sensed the same spirit and attitude in the Irish locker room that he experienced in the spring. The two teams’ paths have actually been comparable. After losing to Georgetown at home early in the season, Notre Dame lacrosse went on to win 14 straight games, including 4 in the NCAA Event, to secure the title. And after losing to Northern Illinois in September, the Irish were now attempting to make a similar comeback. Now, you are aware that Notre Dame won the game. But what role did Faison play in the title win?

In the previous win in May, Faison scored 22 goals as a starting midfielder for the Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team during his rookie campaign. He was a goal scorer in Notre Dame’s 15–5 triumph over Maryland in the 2024 National Title. Now, Georgia immediately struggled in their game due to Jordan Faison’s pace, and that led Notre Dame to a 23-10 victory over the Bulldogs. Notre Dame’s first down of the game came when Faison caught a 14-yard pass from quarterback Riley Leonard. Later, he demonstrated his potential to contribute with a six-yard gain on the last play of the third quarter.

In addition to today, his early football days also demonstrate that he is a pro athlete with dual-sport skills. Let’s explore more.
