Despite being a sideline reporter, Holly Rowe is definitely not going to be ‘sidelined’. Since August 1998, she has worked for ESPN as a reporter and CFB commentator. Holly, who was born in Woods Cross, Utah, in 1966, has made a name for herself in the sports writing industry. She began her career early as a sportswriter and earned a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Utah in 1991.

She attended Brigham Young University prior to becoming a journalist, and while there, she experimented with her skills as a news anchor. Before enrolling at Brigham, young Holly Rowe attended Woods Cross High School in Utah, but she never finished her coursework or received her degree. Scott and Holly first connected while attending the University of Utah for their studies in college. Their love of athletics served as the catalyst for their relationship, creating a solid bond that has lasted over time. However, the exact date of starting their relationship is not known, but mutual encouragement and support have been hallmarks of their relationship.

Then, gradually, their love grew, and they tied the knot. As she manages a difficult broadcasting profession, Scott Rowe, an entrepreneur, has been a reliable companion, offering both practical and emotional support. He has been a consistent source of strength for her through hardships, including health issues related to her struggle with desmoplastic melanoma. Safe to say, their partnership is a perfect example of striking a healthy balance between stability in one’s personal life and career aspirations.

For the pair, Holly’s 2015 diagnosis of stage 3 desmoplastic melanoma was a major obstacle. The power of their relationship was highlighted by his assistance during her recuperation. But in 2019, it made a forceful reappearance. After tumors formed in her lungs, it finally advanced to stage IV metastatic melanoma, a kind of cancer that spreads to distant organs. In an exclusive Women’s Health interview, she said, “I ended up with one small spot on my chest that I thought was not a big deal, and it almost killed me. It went to my lungs and literally almost killed me, just from wanting to tan and wanting to look good.”
