Well, David Pollack has his own fan base. The 2005 NFL Draft pick had won fans’ hearts by finishing his career as a three-time All-America selection. But all that shines isn’t gold. The ex-ESPN College GameDay host, whose life apparently might look all picture perfect, has a different reality. Right now, David’s wife, Lindsey Pollack is fighting against a terminal disease. The NFL legend has found his wife by his side in every walk of his life. However, with Lindsey down in distress, David asks his fans to pray for his wife.
The Pollacks are a happy family of four. David, his wife Lindsey, and his two kids- 16-year-old son Nicholas and 14-year-old daughter Leah. The couple has shared a lovely marriage for more than 17 years. However, the family is treading through a rocky road now. On March 10, the ex-linebacker came up with a heartwrenching post on X, “I do not share much of my personal life on social media, but today is gonna be different.” David then asked for some help from his fans, “If you are the praying type, please lift up my wife Lindsey. She has brain cancer and surgery is Wednesday at Duke. So thankful to serve a loving God that meets us in our struggles.” David’s only focus was football until he met the love of his life and they got married in May 2005.

Lindsey was born and brought up in Lilburn, Georgia. She holds a degree in early childhood education from the University of Cincinnati. Later on, she pursued her higher studies and graduated from the University of Georgia. And the ex-NFL LB must be thankful to the universe as the two crossed paths and met in Georgia. Their bond only got stronger over time. And as David continued to hoard big wins – 2002 SEC Player of the Year and 2004 SEC Defensive Player of the Year, Lombardi Award, and Lott Trophy in 2004, Lindsey has been there beside him like a pillar of rock.
Lindsey likes to keep her life private and take care of the kids. However, David’s wife is often spotted at public events showing her love and support. Meanwhile, the Pollack couple had taken a giant step towards philanthropy as well.

David and Lindsey were able to get help from two well-known Atlanta-based charities. The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Strong4Life movement and C.H.O.I.C.E.S. partnered with the Pollack Family Foundation. Now that David’s life has hit rough notes, he got support from an unexpected figure. That’s none other than the former Indianapolis punter Pat McAfee. As well all know, McAfee is now known for his role as the College GameDay host.
However, back in 2023, David Pollack was laid off by ESPN when McAfee was named to that position full-time. But so what? McAfee’s gesture at present shows there are no signs of hard feelings between the current and the former host. Right after David revealed the heartbreaking news, McAfee was one of the first ones to send his prayers. “All my positive vibes and prayers brother,” he wrote.
