Is Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi the next big thing in college football, or just another overhyped QB?

Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi was born and raised in San Diego, California. However, he shifted to Aledo, Texas, for his junior year of high school. He played as a starting quarterback for the Aledo Bearcats. During his senior year, he completed 114 out of 171 passing attempts, running for 2,051 yards with 24 touchdowns and an interception. His team participated in the state championship, where Fowler threw for 215 yards with two touchdowns, resulting in the win. After completing his college, the 3-star recruit committed to Colorado State over other offers from Nevada, Arizona, Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, and Toledo. He enrolled early to participate in the 2022 spring practices. During his first season with the Rams, he completed 17 out of 37 passing attempts, running for 194 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Last season also, his exceptional performance came in handy against Middle Tennessee. He completed 30 out of 43 passing attempts, running for 321 yards with a 7-yard touchdown pass, resulting in a 31-23 win.

Colorado Rams head coach Jay Norvell has big hopes for Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi this season, despite a tough opener against the Longhorns, where they lost 52-0. Fowler-Nicolosi did his best, completing 10 of 18 passes for 59 yards with one interception. Looking ahead, there’s bright optimism that he can bring a solid performance against the Buffs. Even, Norvell has high praises seeing Brayden’s growth. “He’s learned so much from his experiences last year,” he said. He also highlighted the quarterback’s newfound “calmness,” a quality that wasn’t as apparent last season. Looks like Norvell has strong hopes for Brayden’s leadership and strength, which should lead to some great plays this season.

Well, Fowler-Nicolosi deserves all the praise he gets. He’s an underrated gunslinger who’s known for his ability to make accurate throws in tight spaces. Even though the Rams lost to Texas, the quarterback had a chance to show off his skills in the season opener against Northern Colorado. He led the Rams to a 38-17 victory, completing 17 out of 26 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown. Well, that sure sounds like a threat to Coach Prime & Co.

Both Colorado teams are 1-1 right now. It’ll be interesting to see if the Rams’ star quarterback can lead his team to a victory over the Buffs and improve their record to 2-1 this week.
