Zion Branch, a native of Las Vegas, plays as a safety for the USC Trojans. He is currently a redshirt sophomore. Branch is known for his aggressive approach on the ground. The safety attended Bishop Gorman High School and started his football career. Bishop Gorman has helped him develop his skills and establish him as a top player.
Brach is very fortunate to have his younger brother Zachariah Branch play on his team. Branch brothers are looking to make an impact on the field for this new season. The Trojans and the Branch brothers are set to play their season opener on 1 September against the Tigers. Zion shares an unbreakable bond with his brother, 247 reported his statements where he shared his love for his younger one, “I just feel like we have a type of connection that, no matter where we’re at, we just push each other to get better each and every day, no matter what it is. Even when I was away, we were FaceTiming all day, every day whenever we had time.”

Zion comes from a very supportive and sport-loving family. He was born to Renee and Sheva Branch, who play significant roles in the player’s life. Sheva is a former NFL player and played as a fullback at San Jose State. Right now, he is a sports performance coach. Renee, Zion’s mother, attended San Jose State University with a degree in Bachelor of Science and is currently working as the senior provider recruiter at Alpine Physician Partners.

Both of the player’s parents are involved in his football career, especially his father, who has trained him for 10 years. Sheva serves as a speed and agility coach at Zion’s former high school. Very few players are lucky enough, like the Branch brothers, who get an opportunity to get trained under their father. Sheva has always been there for both his boys. He is often seen sharing his love through social media posts. Renee and Sheva have raised their boys with great values, which are visible on and off the field in their behavior.
Zion’s uncle Cliff Branch is one of the reasons he fell in love with football and started playing football. Cliff is a legendary Oakland Raiders receiver and three-time Super Bowl champion. He was always there for Zion, like his parents. Sports Illustrated has reported Zion’s statement when he saw his uncle supporting him in the stadium for his game against De La Salle High School for the very first time: “That was the biggest moment to me. He was able to watch films of a lot of my games and stuff like that, but when he came to see me in person, that was really big. That was the first and only time he got to see me play and said I did great. It meant a lot coming from someone like him.”

Raising two children with the same aspiration to play such a competitive sport as football is not easy. The Branch family had to face some challenges. Most of the time, the brothers were compared to each other both on and off the field. Balancing school, sports practices, and games is not easy. Especially when both their kids were playing for the same team. Renee and Sheva just hung in there for many years, helped the boys coordinate their schedules, and provided emotional support whenever they needed it.
The news of both the boys playing on the same team was quite overwhelming for the family. It was Christmas when Zion shared the news with his parents. Seeing their children succeed at such a high level is proof of their efforts and sacrifices. It also highlights their importance in both players’ lives.
