No.1 The Texas Longhorns are among the few teams that have won back-to-back matches this season. With a dominating victory against UL Monroe in week 4, they continued to maintain their winning streak. The Longhorns are set to kick off SEC play this weekend under their head coach, Steve Sarkisian.

This season, the Longhorns have delivered their best performance during non-conference play; they won all four games by a huge margin. On the other hand, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are struggling badly. They lost their last week’s game against Florida by 17 points. Jeff Lebby and the team need to bounce back this weekend against the Texas Longhorns. Fans who cannot attend the match in DKR can catch up on all the live action on SEC Network. For the first time, the Longhorns’ SEC debut game against Mississippi State will be broadcast live.

The announcers for the game at DKR will be Tom Hart, Cole Cubelic, and Alyssa Lang. Tom Hart is a television announcer for ESPN. He started his career in 1999 with ISP Sports Network as a studio host. His many years of experience bring lots of valuable insights.

Injuries could stop the Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns face some challenges because of injuries in the team; the current status of redshirt junior quarterback Quinn Ewers is still not clear for the team ahead of their week 5 game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. In the press conference this Monday, coach Sarkisian said that Ewers would likely be listed as “questionable” on the SEC-mandate report injury.

Arch Manning stepped up and took advantage of the golden opportunity to secure his place as a starting quarterback for the Longhorns against ULM. Ewers will take some more time to recover from an abdominal strain. In that case, it’s highly likely that Sarkisian will again go with the young star of the Manning Clan. Arch had his moments last week despite some sloppy plays. But, hey! That’s how young QBs learn, and it’s better that these things happen when your team is winning. However, problems for Texas do not stop with their QB.

They have also been facing several injuries in the running back and safety positions. Sophomore safeties Jelani McDonald and Derek Williams Jr. missed last weekend’s victory over ULM because of various lower-body injuries. Despite several setbacks and injuries, Texas is on the right track, winning back-to-back games.
