Can Nebraska defy the odds and upset Ohio State, or is history doomed to repeat itself?

On Saturday, Ohio State will take on Nebraska in an effort to get back into the winning streak. Ohio State is only one point away from being unbeaten after losing to Oregon two weeks ago. However, Nebraska, which had played some strong defense before last week’s crushing loss to new contender Indiana, might fall below .500 in Big Ten play. As a result, both teams have a strong chance of winning the Big Ten. Despite this, Ohio State is currently 9-1 against Nebraska and has dominated this series. Thus, there is no doubt that the game will be tough. On game day, though, who will be wearing the headset to add more ambiance?

This Nebraska vs. Ohio State game will air on Fox at 9:30 p.m. We already know that the game will be thrilling, but what could be more thrilling? Yes, the crew of newscasters. Jenny Taft will serve as the sideline reporter, and Joel Klatt and Gus Johnson will broadcast the game. You will undoubtedly have heard this same group in two previous games if you watch CFB this season. Michigan vs. Texas and Indiana vs. Nebraska are two prime instances. This crew’s presence and sense of humor made both games more engaging. So, this is the third time.

However, Klatt’s analysis and commentary on college football have earned him recognition. Klatt’s background as a quarterback contributed to his skill. He played football for the CU Buffs while he was a college student. He also spent two seasons playing baseball in the lower leagues. Then, Klatt had his first broadcasting experience in the fall of 2006 when he filled in as an analyst for FSN Rocky Mountain. He currently works for Fox Sports.

But what about the other half of this pair? Well, Gus Johnson has been engaged in sports commentary since the beginning of his career. He worked for NBA TV and CBS Sports before becoming a play-by-play commentator for Fox Sports. It looks like Gus’s thirty years of experience and Klatt’s cleverness will brighten your day for the third time. Will the engagement remain the same, or will it diminish? Only when you watch the game will you know?

However, before watching the matchup, take a look at analysts’ predictions about this game.

The six-game series between Ryan Day’s Ohio State and Matt Rhule’s Nebraska will most likely feature two highly regarded opponents. The Buckeyes start the game with a 5-1 record, while Nebraska starts with a 5-2 record. When the two programs faced off last in 2021, OSU won 26–17. Most fans, though, will remember the incredible performance of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the former star wide receiver. Despite losing by a 14-point margin, he had 15 receptions and 240 yards during the game. Therefore, OSU has an opportunity to defeat the Cornhuskers this year as well. However, what do analysts say?
