With parents like Jon and Alison, is Luke Kromenhoek destined to be the next big football star?

I knew in my heart I wanted to be a Nole, said FSU quarterback Luke Kromenhoek on his commitment to the program. 6-foot-4, 208-pound Luke hails from Savannah, Ga. His interest in playing football from a young age goes to his genes because he comes from a sports-oriented family. On top of that, his father was a popular football player back in his day. Kromenhoek’s parents, Alison Dudley Kromenhoek and Jon Kromenhoek, played a pivotal role in making his journey easier and provided him with love and support.

Jon Kromenhoek, Luke’s father, started his football journey as a player and later in his life transformed into a coach. He played as a defensive end at the University of Massachusetts and was a standout player there. Besides that, the details of his statistics are not known. After graduating, he started his coaching career at the University of Hampshire, where he helped the team’s defense.

On top of that, Jon Kromenhoek invented a family-friendly football game called ‘all-star QB.’ While he was vacationing with his family, he pulled out this masterpiece. It was Jon Kromenhoek who designed the game with a set of different setups, such as the beach, backyard, or tailgating events. It also has an added feature that allows an intersection among players. His idea of creating such a game showcased his deep roots in football, which he passed on to his sons. However, not much is public about Luke’s mother’s personal or professional life, but in instances, she visits him during his games to cheer him up.

Luke Kromenhoek’s parents’ involvement in his football journey

Kromenhoek’s family has poured football into him since he was a child. Around five years of age, Jon dressed him and his older brother Mac in football uniforms with proper football pads and all. Then he had them go head-to-head in their front yard. It showcases his efforts in introducing games into his son’s life in a fun way. Besides that, at the beginning of his journey, Luke was playing defense like his father, but when his school needed someone to run the offense, Jon came forward and encouraged his son to go for that change.

Following that, when Luke’s high school coach suggested he could be better as a quarterback, Jon reached out to his former UMass teammate Ken Mastrole, who also coached Luke’s elder brother. Jon went on a 500-mile journey to Naples, Florida, along with Luke, to take his opinion. He left him with the coach for two days and later learned that Luke could be great as a quarterback. With the constant support of his family and his hard work, Luke made a place among the top 100 national prospects in the class of 2024.
