And when Cody Simon’s father, Mike Simo, was informed that his son had been named Buckeyes captain and Block O honoree, he got emotional. He was aware that his son might succeed in football someday, but it was too soon to expect it. However, he was pleased and proud of Cody’s accomplishments, something he had attempted to do throughout his time in college.

Mike Simon, Cody Simon’s father, was a rugby player at the Army, also known as the United States Military Academy. Cody’s own achievements as an OSU linebacker are indicative of this athletic heritage. Moreover, Cody’s life has been greatly impacted by Mark Simon, who has been there for him during his football career. And behold the reward. In addition to ranking among the top 100 players in the Class of 2020, Simon is a born leader who has embraced the positions of ambassador on campus and team leader.

Who is Cody Simon’s mom?

Cody Simon is the son of Amy Ellis. Throughout Cody’s sports career, she has been a steadfast supporter, frequently going to his games and acknowledging his accomplishments. However, she’s never been on a football field, but she used to run in college. She competed for Michigan’s track and field team.

Beyond her involvement in athletics, Amy is known for her dedication to her family and for helping to mold Cody’s morals and character. She has openly expressed her satisfaction with Cody’s achievements, including his selection as an All-American player, demonstrating their strong relationship. And you know, according to his X post, Cody had a lengthy discussion with his family before deciding to play college football at OSU. It merely shows that his family comes first and that he puts them before everything else.

Where did Cody grow up?

Jersey City, New Jersey, is where Cody Simon was raised. He started his football career from his hometown. While he was a student at St. Peter’s Preparatory School, he was recognized as one of the state’s best football players. He finished with 89 tackles as a junior, 13.5 of which were for a loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception. Simon was rated as the 10th best outside linebacker in the nation and the fourth-best player in the State of New Jersey when he graduated from high school.

After graduation, in 2020, he joined OSU and as a freshman; he played on special teams. He had 54 tackles in 2021, 2.5 of which were for a loss, a sack, and an interception. Simon recorded 32 tackles in 2022, with two sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass deflection. As of now, the standout LB is busy in preparation.
