Arizona State Sun Devils registered their fifth victory of the 2024 season. Running back Cameron Skattebo displayed some impressive performance by rushing for 158 yards and scoring two touchdowns, which helped Arizona State to a 27-19 win over No. 16 Utah. And guess what? This was Skattebo’s third 100-yard game of the season. Under the stewardship of the youngest head coach in Power Four Conferences, Kenny Dillingham, 22-year-old Cameron is looking to add another 1000-yard rushing season, just like he did in his second year at Sacramento State. Seeing Skattebo run is a unique experience. Of course, college football has seen generational running backs.
What makes Skattebo different is his sheer refusal to go down. Imagine you are a linebacker. You see a running back coming towards you, and when you go to tackle, forget stopping the run; you end up injuring yourself. That’s what a defender goes through when they come across Skattebo. Where does it all come from? Well, the California native developed his football skills at Rio Linda in his hometown. He had an outstanding junior season where he rushed for a total of 3,550 yards and scored 42 touchdowns. His impressive performance led his team to a state championship. Considering his strength and powerful game plays, the Sacramento State Hornets decided to recruit him. Just like any other athlete, it starts at home. Let’s introduce you to his parents.
