Home/College Football

There has been unprecedented hype all around about the highly personal library set to revive this weekend between Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State. Ryan Day will look to break a sweat in dodging the three-game losing streak against the Wolverines while Sherrone Moore and the boys will be fired up to take hold of a Saturday noon on the opponent’s home stadium and will fight their soul to not bring back the pre Ryan Day era embarrassment. But the thing is, amidst the boiling sentiment flowing all over the 120th edition of “The Game”, Ohio State fans might miss out on another super emotional aspect of this weekend. We are going to catch a slew of our favorite OSU stars in the quintessential red jersey for the last time ever. A grand senior day ceremony looms large.

Football revolves around steps. A seamless transition from the collegiate level to the University level to the professional level, a career comes to the full circle. It sounds exhilarating, but it’s tragic at the same time. It’s not easy to leave behind all the past legacy, and memories to jump ship to a new path, although it’s essential. The Buckeyes will host a melancholic farewell to all those seniors who reached the end of their tenure at Ohio State. Before the game kicks off, 30 seniors will be honored for their contributions to the team so far. The list includes Will Howard, running back TreVeyon Henderson, wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, tight end Gee Scott Jr., offensive lineman Donovan Jackson, and many more.

However, not all seniors on the list will be picked up for the ceremony. Eight players including wide receivers Jayden Ballard and Reis Stocksdale, Will Kacmarek, Zen Michalski and Josh Simmons, Tywone Malone Jr., cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr, and John Feldmann can’t mark their presence on pen and paper as they still have a year left with them. Although that doesn’t mean they will stick for another season with the Buckeyes, they are at least under no compulsion.

Poignant day for Ryan Day and the team! Only a historic win can do full justice to the overwhelming free-flow of emotion. Also, Will Howard has a chance to stand out among the special 30s in a special weekend if he plays his card right.

Will Howard lit a fire under his veins ahead of ‘the Game’

Will Howard, 23, had an only a year down under the OSU camp and he already set the bar higher for himself. He racked up lofty numbers and multiple records to his name except one, which is beating the Wolverines down. Of course, it’s not his personal fiasco, but given he has never felt what its ike to be smashed by a key opponent team, his first chance to make a different hold a greater significance than anything.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Ohio State's seniors leave a legacy or be overshadowed by another Wolverines victory?

Have an interesting take?

He wants to win this one in the worst way,” Coach Ryan Day reflected on a potential big play from his wonder boy. His unmatched leadership, incredible athletics backed by some high-flying numbers are enough to make us scream, ‘yes‘, he can be the trailblazer in the new Ohio State and can take the team back to their 10-year-old glory.

Unlike others, the QB phenom will run into the Saturday’s game without any extra chip on his shoulder. He neither has an emotional attachment to an intense decade-old rivalry nor he has a bitter flashback of memories of the last three encounters. It’s all fresh for him. All he has is a fiery motivation to take the cr*p out of the hole and rewrite a new history for the sake of the deep love for his brothers, for the coach who carried the same guilt over a decade.

Go ace it, Buckeyes! The clock is ticking!
