Rod Moore's rise from high school to Michigan DB—Is he the next big thing in college football?

However, the star defensive back chose Michigan to play college football as he believed, ” This is a really big offer for me and I know about the academic reputation of Michigan.” Moreover, the star athlete shared a very deep connection with the coaching staff of Michigan. Although the stellar performer won a national championship in 2023 for Michigan. So, you can imagine the potential and caliber of the star player. Moore’s high school days

In his junior season, Moore attended Northmont High School in Clayton and recorded 85 tackles and four interceptions. There he played in a traditional zone defense and in his senior season, he caught 440 yards and 8 touchdowns. Additionally, during his high school days, ran a 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds. So, you can understand the talent and versatility that hold the defensive back of the Wolverines.

However, the journey of Moore at high school was quite interesting, which propelled him into the spotlight as a four-star recruit. Along with that, he was rated as a No.12 player at Ohio and the No. 78 safety in the country according to 247Sports. Hence, his excellent performance caught the eyes of fans and followers. On this note, Michigan coach Harbaugh said to reportersHe’s a really good player. He’s developed well, a student of the game. On-field, I think his best attribute is he’s in the right places“. Starting from Clayton, coming into the present position was quite difficult for the defensive back as in between he suffered from a torn ACL during spring practice. The most interesting fact is that he won three consecutive Big Ten Conference titles. Along with that, Moore was an All-Big Ten selection. 

However, during the 2023 season at Michigan, he showcased an exceptional performance, playing 11 games and earning the preseason #5 ranking for college football safeties. Additionally, he recorded 38 tackles and 2 interceptions in total with Michigan. Currently, he is preparing for the upcoming season to bring more success to the Wolverines.
