“The thing about Ollie is he’s really smart. He understands what everybody’s doing on the field from receivers to tailback to quarterback, so we could move him around a ton,” said the offensive coordinator of Trinity Euless, Rodney Barthelemess, praising the potential and caliber of Oklahoma running back, Ollie Gordon. Imagine the talent of the running back when he was just starting in high school. Most importantly, the star-athlete chose Oklahoma because of its family-type atmosphere. However, the running back football journey was not that smooth as at 21 years of age he got arrested because of speed breaking. The police officers witnessed him veering out of his lane twice and driving at a speed of 82 mph in a 65 mph zone. After that, because of face loss, the star-athlete stayed some time away from football and then he came back. But it’s needed to know where his journey in football started. Gordon’s high school journey

Gordon started to play football at Euless Trinity High School and he was a star player because of his work ethic as well as selflessness as an athlete. On this note, the head coach of Trinity stated, “He’s a team guy. He always encourages linemen, quarterbacks, receivers, players around him, and that’s what special kids do, right? They make other players better,“. Therefore, you can understand the popularity held by the RB at his high school.

However, as a performer, he was excellent, and he recorded 546 yards and 35 touchdowns. Along with that, Gordon ranked as the No. 10 running back in the national class. Most importantly, he is a unanimous four-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals, and so on. So, you can imagine the performance trait of the star player. Even Texas head coach once stated, “Ollie Gordon is a heck of a player, they have done a great job offensively of leaning into him. Generally, with a guy like him, one guy’s not enough,“. The list of achievements of the young running back is quite huge. In 2023, he won the Doak Walker Award, Walter Camp Player of the Year Award as a semifinalist, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, and Maxwell Award as a semifinalist. However, this list doesn’t end here. After that, he won Seventh in the Heisman Trophy.
