Have an interesting take?

The traditional grass of the LaVell Edwards has become a thing to pay attention to for the guest teams played here for the last few years. In-home games against Iowa State, the sloppy playing surface turned into a major pain in the neck.  In the withered winter’s breeze, the slippery grass inflicted harm on a handful of players, causing a huge backlash from the fans all across. Very few, however, had any idea that the wet ground was the byproduct of the cold night temperatures leading to dew. The bash keeps on escalating, propelling the higher-ups to finally change the overdue grass into the brand new Kentucky Bluegrass sod around the Spring of 2024.

Ideally, the grass demands to be changed every seven years. ‘‘Typically my recommendation, and it was at that time, is to replace sports fields that are mowed short after seven years,” said Hopkins, a soil scientist closely attached to the turf grass at LaVell Edwards Stadium for the last few years.

Now, it remains to be seen how over 60,000 audiences and a new set of grass pans out for the Cougars’ fate.
