EA Sports College Football 25 is a marketing and on-field product primary class that has taken the sports and video game industries by storm. While some were happy with the release of the EA College Football video game on Monday, some weren’t because of the release of the rating list. Ole Mis Rebels quarterback, Jaxson Dart’s rating was one of them. You may be curious to know the reason.
Well, on Wednesday morning, the college football video game franchise—which has been away for over ten years—unveiled a ranking of the top 100 players in the game. In that list, some players’ ratings were pretty far off from their real-life counterparts. As per our observation, Dart was also in that category.
Dart received a 90 overall rating from EA Sports for the game, but it didn’t seem like they were as concerned with keeping the popular quarterback looking like him. That is why the player was asked about his response to the video game headshot during SEC Media Days. He told reporters, “I mean it’s trash. I don’t know what they looked at. I don’t know where they got that from but that ain’t me.“

It reflects that the quarterback has more expectations from this season. After throwing for 3,364 yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions in the previous season, Dart is hoping to get some recognition within the conference. Even the head coach of Ole Miss Lane Kiffin was not happy with the rating, as he surrounded Dart with as much support as possible by bringing in a ton of talent through the transfer portal. By accepting the fact, let’s move to the evolution of Dart’s EA rating.

The EA rating is a testament to a player’s performance as well as marketplace popularity. Standing there, Ole Miss star QB Jaxson Dart recorded 10,688 passing yards and 117 touchdowns during his high school football career. In addition, he was named the MaxPreps National Player of the Year. He was the Gatorade Football Player of the Year in his senior year. Dart is a dynamic player, as he was a two-time all-state third baseman for the baseball team.

In 2021, after joining USC for collegiate football in the game against Washington State, Dart replaced injured quarterback Kedon Slovis and finished the game with 391 yards and four touchdowns. After spending one season at USC, he jumped into the transfer portal in 2022 and joined the Ole Miss Rebels. In 2023, he participated in the Peach Bowl and recorded 23 TDs. His football career is, therefore, replete with success stories.
Now, come to his marketability. Dart and Mississippi-based C Spire inked an NIL deal “over $100,000 in value,” according to On3. In addition, he has created history at NIL by inking an endorsement deal with Nicholas Air. Besides this, he has agreements with EA Sports and The Grove Collective of Ole Miss in addition to an On3 NIL valuation of $1.6 million. So, we hope the reason for his unhappiness with the EA rating is clear to you.
