Can Colorado bounce back without Shilo Sanders, or is this a major setback for Coach Prime's squad?

If a 28-10 loss against the Nebraska Cornhuskers wasn’t bad enough, the Colorado Buffaloes are having a much worse time. It seems Shilo Sanders is injured. In the first quarter against Nebraska, he played a key role in the secondary with two tackles. But his injury prevented him from returning to the game as now it’s confirmed in an X post on September 8 that “Shilo Sanders broken forearm per Coach Prime.” What exactly did Deion Sanders say about this?

Deion Sanders told a reporter about the status of his son’s return and he said, “I think broken forearm, something like that, so he won’t be back at all. But we got to come up with something, we gotta go in and get these guys try to pull a bit.” People also spotted Shilo Sanders on the sideline during the fourth quarter with a sling around his arm.

Then, after the game was done, Sanders shared, “I don’t know the extent of the injury, but I know he did something to his forearm that put him out for the rest of the game.”

Shilo Sanders had recorded 54 tackles, a forced fumble, and three PDUs last season. As of now, it remains unclear when he will be able to join his team on the field again. This was a big blow to Colorado, who was already being crushed by Nebraska at halftime.

The latter won, 28-18, by smothering the Buffaloes with a great defensive performance and also avenged their 2023 loss. With this, the Nebraska Cornhuskers ended their three-loss streak against their biggest rivals. But at the same time, this game seems to have exposed the Buffaloes’ weaknesses.

Colorado Buffaloes endured a crushing blow from the Nebraska Cornhuskers!

Ahead of the rivalry clash with the Cornhuskers, Deion Sanders laid out his plans to target their freshman QB Dylan Raiola. He said, “We’re going to do some things to try to disable him and disarm him from getting comfortable as a freshman quarterback.” But it looks like the tables have turned!

Nebraska’s dominance over Colorado has triggered the Buffs players, particularly Travis Hunter who displayed frustration. Leading the game with a 12-yard touchdown, Dylan Raiola and the Cornhuskers have left Travis Hunter and his team in the dust as they took the lead at halftime with a late 18-yard touchdown crushing the raging Buffs with 28-0.

Now, all of this made people think that the Buffaloes were not better than their last season. When the team struggled last year, Coach Prime opined that he needed to fix the offensive line and that’s what they did. But it seems like an exaggeration now. To still see them struggle was disappointing for fans. If the same goes on, we don’t see how they have a realistic chance at a bowl game.

Further, this game might end up as one of Shedeur Sanders’ worst games in Colorado. He completed just 61% of his passes (23-for-38) for 244 yards and a touchdown.

All in all, this game was a nightmare for Coach Prime:
