After a neck-to-neck win of 16-12 against the Houston Cougars, there were a lot of concerns raised against Jackson Arnold’s performance. Even head coach Brent called his game “inconsistent.” Jackson’s gameplay was quite average throughout the match. He only scored 17-of-25 passes, running for 141 yards with four touchdowns. Arnold was even sacked three times during the game; however, on Saturday night he threw his first interception of the season. Despite the weak offense, the team managed to survive and ultimately won.

Even after calling him inconsistent, Brent also appreciated his efforts after the match, saying “he made some really nice plays.” Jackson Arnold had a promising start in his first season with the Oklahoma Sooners football team as a backup for the team. Jackson played for six games completed 44 of 69 passes with a 63.8% completion percentage, running for 563 yards with five touchdowns overall. The young player may have started off slow, but he has a promising future ahead and will undoubtedly excel in future matches. What are your thoughts on it? Do let us know in the comments!
