Tetairoa McMillan's ratings are off the charts! Is he the next big thing in college football?

Tetairoa McMillan is making waves in college football through his recent performance in Arizona’s season opener win against New Mexico. Given his play, he is getting recognized as the “best receiver in Arizona history,” which is such a huge compliment given by major analysts. McMillan’s skills don’t go unnoticed and his EA Sports ratings are proof of it. He secured a place among the top players in these ratings, for which he has surely worked hard, to say the least.

Arizona Wildcats star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan received a solid 94 overall rating from EA Sports College Football 25. He has left many high-profile players behind and achieved the third-highest ratings. Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II and Michigan cornerback Will Johnson are the only players who received higher rankings than him with 96 overall ratings. However, McMillan’s rating is proof of his grip on the game, including his historic performance in the 2023 season.

In last year’s season, he received the second-highest yards in a single season by any Arizona receiver with a massive 1402 yards. Added to that, in his remarkable performance against their biggest rivals, Arizona State, McMillan hauled in 11 catches, ran for 266 yards, and made one touchdown, contributing to his team’s 36-score victory.

Tetairoa McMillan’s Arizona team and their achievements

McMillan isn’t the only Arizona standout making waves in EA Sports rankings this season. His teammates, cornerback Tacario Davis and offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea, also earned impressive scores, with Davis receiving a 92 overall and Savaiinaea landing a solid 90. Both players secured spots in the top 100 player list, cementing Arizona’s growing presence in college football. The Wildcats themselves sit at No. 23, with an overall rating of 87, making them the fourth-highest-ranked team in the Big 12—a testament to head coach Jedd Fisch’s leadership and ability to mold young talent.

McMillan’s rise to stardom under Fisch has been nothing short of remarkable. After earning second-team Pac-12 honors and third-team Associated Press All-American accolades for his stellar sophomore year, McMillan continued to rack up recognition during the offseason. He was named a preseason Athlon Sports All-American and also received preseason honors from Phil Steele. His performances, combined with his top-tier EA Sports rankings, have college football experts buzzing, with many projecting him as a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
