Silas Bolden's speed rating is off the charts! Is he the fastest player in College Football 25?

The hype surrounding Texas Longhorns receiver Silas Bolden continues to pump ahead of the season. The Oregon State transfer has put every competitor on notice, leaving the most marquee impression among all the new transfer receivers. But the crux of his fame goes deeper into just his sure hands, sheer speed, or a solid route running. Rather, he garnered the most attention from his peers and the higher-ups for some unique, non-tangible qualities. The young phenom’s generous approach of keeping the team first, a warrior’s spirit, and an undying spirit, have now been the appealing points that the team banks on.

That said, not only does the Longhorns’ locker room sing the praise of Bolden’s incredible talent, EA Sports rating board also keeps him among the top 11 rankers.

Bolden has had some remarkable years in Oregon State. But beginning this summer, the Longhorns started to get the fruit of his hard work and it’s nothing but sweet. Despite being a late starter to his fellow newbies, Bolden proved that the wait is all worth it. Despite his height being an anomaly for a top-class receiver like him, Bolden did an excellent job of carving out a memorable year for himself in 2023, with a total of  54 catches for 746 yards, 14th in the Pac-12. He has played in 37 career games with 14 starts in four seasons with The Beavers, summing up 80  receptions for 1,076 yards and nine touchdowns. These wonderful numbers led him to bag a spot in the prestigious EA Sports College Football 25 list with an overall 86 rating.

He stood 5th among the Texas players, with Kelvin Banks topping the list with 94 ratings.

Silas Bolden is laying up compliments and wishes from the Longhorns locker room

Head coach Steve Sarkisian had a few nice words for the veteran addition to the team after he managed to earn a starting spot in Week 1. ”He has a great deal of experience and he has a great deal of experience in an NFL-style offense, So, a lot of our concepts and things that we do aren’t foreign to him.”, Sarkisian said, showcasing great faith in the promising RB. Defensive back, Michael Taffie appreciates Bolden’s selfless attitude. He talked about how the newest offensive contributor was always ready to meet his coach and team’s directions. The down-to-earth approach amidst all the hype was another special thing about Bolden that impressed Taaffe to a great extent. quarterback Quinn Ewers took a distinct note of his drive to win for the team and couldn’t get enough of it. ‘Heck of a ballplayer’: this is how veteran cornerback Jahdae Barron likes to explain him, best demonstrating his admiration.

Also, an NFL-style offense will allow him to do more than line up as a slot receiver overcoming the slim build. Hence, he will align perfectly with Sarkisian’s scheme, like most of the receivers in the group, except Ryan Wingo.

The future seems to be rosy. Now, only time will show the rest.
