Jahmal Banks' EA Sports ratings are off the charts! Is he the next big thing in college football?

On 11th January, the former wide receiver of Wake Forest, Jahmal Banks, made headlines by announcing his commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Being part of the Cornhuskers can be a turning point in Banks’ college career because Nebraska is one of the most popular college football teams with a huge fanbase. They have produced many NFL players. The 2024 season has kicked off. Nebraska has had an amazing start to the season. On 7th September, in their Week 2 game, the Cornhuskers thumped the Colorado Buffaloes by 28-10.

EA Sports College Football 25 is back, and fans are eager to know how their favorite player is performing. Talking about wide receiver Jahmal Banks, he has evolved a lot as a receiver with Wake Forest for the past four years. His impressive stats in high school and Wake Forest have helped him earn an overall rating of 83. Reflecting on his solid performance and potential, he is at the top of the wide receiver list for his new team.

Earlier in his career, Wake Forest Demon Deacons helped Banks develop his skills, and with them, he earned many honors, including All-ACC, in 2022. He recorded over 100 catches and 1,400 receiving yards. Banks is one of the nine Cornhuskers players named to the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watchlist. 2023 was the final year for the Bank’s with Wake Forest. He ended his journey with Wake Forest with 59 receptions and a team-leading 653 yards. Over the four years, he displayed impressive performance, and in 2024 he was named to the Brook Berrunger Citizenship Team. He was also named in the Tom Osborne Citizen Team.

Nebraska Cornhuskers’s victory over Colorado Buffaloes

Cornhuskers dominated the popular football program in the second week. They totalled 334 yards of offense; on the other hand, Colorado could manage only 260 yards and 16 rushing yards. Nebraska’s quarterback displayed some impressive performance in the crucial game. Dylan Railoa ended the day with 23 out of 30 for 1805 yards and one touchdown.

Yahoo Sports reported the freshman’s take after the game, where he spoke about the importance of the offense setting a physical tone early in the game. “Obviously, that’s our foundation. That’s what Husker football and this offense are built on. I couldn’t say enough about my o-line going out and covering people up and moving people off the ball. Receivers, blocking and being physical, and running backs, finishing runs, and making plays. It was a team win, team effort, and we’re just happy we’re 1-0 right now.”

Raiola’s statements clearly highlight the collective team effort. The Cornhuskers sacked the star player of Colorado, Shedeur Sander, five times, which kept him under pressure throughout the game.
