Dylan Edwards' speed rating is off the charts! Is he the next big thing in college football?

Dylan Edwards, 19 years old, is a first-class running back, currently playing with the Kansas State Wildcats. He is a four-star prospect who developed his football skills with Derby High School in his hometown. The Kansas State Wildcats played their second week’s game against Tulane Green Wave and won by 7 points. Although Edward is a talented player, he was only involved in five out of the team’s 66 plays. played

The 5 feet 9 inches running back committed to Kansas State for the 2024 season. In his freshman and sophomore years, Edward accomplished remarkable achievements, including winning two Kansas 6A State Championships for Derby. He is considered a legacy Wildcat who is following in his father’s footsteps. He had an outstanding football career during high school; he rushed an impressive 6,426 yards on 622 carries and scored 95 touchdowns. His performance throughout his school days has helped him solidify his reputation as one of the top running backs in the country.

Edwards’s family has been his biggest support system. Talking about his father, Leon Edward, the RB stated,

“My dad was also a tremendous athlete. That’s where we got the football gene and just being athletes in ge,neral. ,He used to train me when I was little.” He also shared, “All the way up, he was my first coach, everything like that.” His admiration for his dad highlights the deep and strong bond between the father and son duo. Leon’s guidance has helped Edward shape his athletic career. Leon himself was a former Kansas State running back who played under Hall of Fame coach Bill Snyder from 1992 to 1994.

Kansas has the best players for all the positions, and they won their game against Tulane Green Wave on Saturday, pointing out that they are prepared for the next matchup.

Before joining the Wildcats, Edward played with the Colorado Buffaloes. He joined them for the 2023 season. He was in headlines after his decision to join the Buffs, as it is one of the major and biggest college football programs. He showed an early impact in his first game against TCU as he scored four touchdowns. He earned the title of Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. During the 2023 season, he played 12 games and started the first four. Edward not only received support from his athlete dada, but his mother, Raisha Edwards, and his near and dear ones also play a significant role in his growing football career.
