Is 2024 DJ Uiagalelei’s year? So far, the first half of the season doesn’t seem to suggest it. The Florida State quarterback has been making headlines, but not for the reasons he’d hoped.

DJ Uiagalelei joined the Seminoles this year after three mixed seasons at Clemson and Oregon State. His career so far has been marked by inconsistency, with an average pass completion rate of around 60%. Despite this, Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell chose Uiagalelei to fill the shoes of their star QB Jordan Travis, who left for the NFL this year.

While Uiagalelei still has a lot to prove on the field, he’s already making waves in EA Sports College Football 25. The game gave him an impressive 86 rating, which puts him right alongside some of the biggest names in college football, like Nico Iamaleava and Kyron Drones. Even the top-rated QB, Shedeur Sanders, only sits seven points ahead at 93. This puts Uiagalelei in the 23rd spot in the game’s quarterback rankings. Well, some might say he’s overrated, but EA Sports must have their reasons to do so.

Standing tall at 6’4” with a decent passing skill, Uiagalelei is certainly a massive presence on the offense. But that didn’t help much in Florida State’s Week 0 game against Georgia Tech in Ireland, where they lost 24-21 in what should have been an easy win. Uiagalelei’s performance was underwhelming too, completing only 19 of 27 passes for 197 yards.

Now, this wasn’t just a case of one bad game, though. DJ Uiagalelei is also showing similar struggles in the Week 1 matchup against the Eagles. Well, now the doubt is looming large over his talent and it seems like a tough road ahead for him.

What’s your perspective on:

Do DJ Uiagalelei's EA Sports ratings reflect his true potential, or are they way off the mark?

Have an interesting take?

Can  DJ Uiagalelei prove his worth in the FSU offense?

Remember when DJ Uiagalelei made a splash in his Clemson debut against Boston College? Well, now he’s back to face the same team, but this time with Florida State. Unfortunately, things aren’t going as smoothly. His early performance has been less than average, and he’s become the b*tt of internet jokes.

Well, for starters, completing 3 of the first 10 passes was quite a struggle for him. The FSU’s offense has been matching up with frequent punts and missed opportunities. And the greatest mishap happened when one of his passes to tight end Kyle Marlock was intercepted in the end zone by the Eagles. Now Noles fans are furious over their QB making his massive EA Sports rating a question mark. Some even started chanting for backup QB Brock Glenn to take over. And the discontent wasn’t just limited to the stands; even online commentators were weighing in. Connor O’Gara, a columnist for Saturday Down South, also threw in some sarcasm on social media, saying, “Wonder what the selection committee thinks of Florida State’s QB play.”

Well, it might be the right question to raise at the moment as DJ Uiagalelei’s leased FSU to a 0-2 loss record raising questions about his ability to lead as a quarterback.
