Deion Sanders' vow to Peggy Coppom—can the Buffs keep the momentum going for their superfan?

With that massive win over the Bearcats, Deion Sanders managed to create the perfect gift for one Colorado superfan. Now, if you have been living under a rock, you might not know about 100-year-old Peggy Coppom. This sweet grandma has been a Colorado Buffs fan since some of y’all were toddlers. Deion Sanders gifted Peggy the joy of watching the Buffs take a shot at it at the Bowl games. This is a historic move for the team, as in the last 6 years, Buffs have never managed to crack it to the Bowl games. But here we are. With a 7-2 run this season and taking their spot on the AP polls and CFP ranking list, Deion Sanders has a new vow for Peggy, and all the fans are in on the pledge.

Back on Instagram, Big Noon Kickoff shared a clip of Colorado fans celebrating Peggy’s 100 birthday with a beautiful cake. However, it is the promise the fans made to Ms. Coppom that is more important. “Colorado money line we doing it for Peggy 💐🦬🦬🦬,” one fan quickly mentioned under the comment section of the post. Coach Prime and the fans are here to take Peggy to the playoffs. While it might sound like a farfetched dream, the Buffs are quite capable of achieving it. See, this is the best Colorado Buffs football has ever been in a long time. The pressure that the offense can create with the Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter pairing is something scary.

And how can we forget about the defense? This is probably the first time that the Colorado Buffs’ defense has been more impressive than their offense. Robert Livingstone has changed the face of the game with his trucks and now the Buffs D-line barely lets anyone get cross past the 25-point mark.

However, at the core of it all, it is Deion Sanders and his “Nick Saban philosophy”. A few days back, we covered how Coach Prime is also using the good old “rat poison” technique on his boys. “Resist the temptation to believe that you’ve arrived….. No, you ain’t,” Deion told the boys. While the average person might think that this is something negative for the players, it ain’t.

The rat poison is making your team understand that a lot of people will say a lot of things about them, but that does not mean they will go on believing everything. “Cause if you believe that, then why didn’t you believe when they said you was garbage?” Coach Prime noted. This is how you create one of the most iconic Colorado Buffs seasons in history. As Buffs battle it off against the Utes today, let’s take a break and focus on what other fans had to say about Peggy.

Have an interesting take?

“Happy Birthday, Ms. Peggy. May God continue to bless you with many more 🥳🥳🥳,” was what one fan wrote in the comment section. Cracking 100 is a big deal, mind you. But what is more impressive is the fact that she has remained a Buffs faithful since the start.

Another fan thanked Big Noon Kickoff for sharing the clip. “Thanks, @bnkonfox for making me cry so early in a Saturday! 😢,” they wrote. However, do you all remember Deion Sanders and Blenders’ gift to Peggy? She was honored with the first-ever fan NIL deal by Coach Prime. Basically, the concept was that for every sleeve that Blender sells for their glasses, Peggy would be awarded $1. Perfect gift for the super fan.

One fan mentioned, “HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY PEGGY!! BUFFS, WIN FOR PEGGY!! ❤ 🔥 🙌!!” Pretty sure Coach Prime can do it. No one had thought that the Buffs would crack the Bowl games. Every hater out there had marked this season as another 4-8 disaster, but the moment the Buffs hit the win against Arizona Wildcats, people knew that this ain’t the same team they saw last year.

Finally, a fan pointed out, “Buffs gotta win big12 for her.” They have to now. But first, they have to grab a win over the Utes. A win in this showdown will bring Deion and his boys a step closer to the playoff mark, so let’s wait and watch what they manage to get done.

While that happens, why don’t you tune in and learn how the NFL is changing its global game?
