Deion Sanders stands by his team—Is this the leadership CU Buffs need to turn things around?

On the 27th August episode of the ‘Outta Pocket with RGIII’ show, Deion came on to the show and spoke on several topics including media criticism, black fatherhood and the upcoming college football season but one thing that stuck out was when he mentioned former coach Trevor Riley. Before coming to Colorado, Riley worked at JSU with Deion and before that, he was an administrative analyst at Utah. Unfortunately, they ended their longtime partnership last week when the program announced that Riley wouldn’t be a part of it anymore.

While most of the fans thought that Riley had been let go, Deion has cleared the air on his exit. Coach Prime said, “My prayer for Trevor is just that it comes together. It comes back together. We didn’t fire Trevor and everybody knows Trevor is my guy. I had love for Trevor and I try to support him in every way imaginable. So I’m praying for Trevor and he knows that.” Thus, now that George Helow has taken his place, Deion continues to take care of the former special teams coach who can hopefully have a better future in the world of college football soon.
