“Yet, the most intriguing coaching figure in Boulder might not even hold an official title beyond Graduate Assistant.” When Coach Prime needs him the most, the big man always steps up. See, if you are a Buffs fan, you know that people are not that happy with Shilo Sanders. Last week was a disaster for Deion Sanders and Co. BYU was absolutely decimating Colorado, and neither Shedeur Sanders nor Travis Hunter had an answer for it. What made matters worse was Shilo’s premature celebration antics. “This kid an EMBARRASSMENT.” Not the tag you want to carry before the draft, huh?
And we would be lying if we say things got better for the Safety. Things started flying towards him from the stands and someone had to step in. “Subtle things that I see him do that people don’t know about. They got Shilo with a couple of objects last week… And I saw Sapp coming back over. He’s always getting the guys together and calm em down,” Deion Sanders mentioned. Lo-and-behold, Unc Warren Sapp to the rescue.
Up to a certain extent, Shilo was at fault. Down by 17 points, and you celebrate prematurely for a tackle, and causing a penalty is not a good sign. This could’ve been a good interception for the Buffs, but it ended up getting overturned as a pass interference.

Do the Deion dance, but only when the time is right. The good thing is Warren Sapp was there, and there is not a day that goes by that we don’t look at Unc Sapp with pride. The amount of life this guy brings to the roster is amazing.
You talk about Deion losing out on key O-line players like Nikhai Hill-Green, but what about the guy who made them mean and physical? We all know that the Buffs offense is a sort of a joke at this point, but Sapp has done more than enough to “instill a mentality of aggression and dominance that paid dividends.” All of this makes us wonder if he will ever think of taking an HC job somewhere.

“For someone that never wanted to do this, I am really addicted to it right now.” Deion pulled a miracle when he managed to convince Sapp to join the Buffs as a GA. The Hall Of Famer had never thought of taking a coaching job before, but he did.
He went on to grab a degree and made it into the staff and look at him now. Unc Sapp is out there helping the boys learn the ropes, but what if he is offered an HC position? It won’t be something new.
Look at Michael Vick. He has settled in pretty well at Norfolk. So what is stopping Sapp? “No, no. That’s too many hours, too many responsibilities. I like to show up, put some spikes in their life, and get the hell out of the way,” Sapp mentioned.

Not a bad idea. We like the entire “I pull the strings behind the scenes” trope. It suits him.
