After a painful 21-26 loss to Washington last Saturday, the USC Trojans and head coach Lincoln Riley are receiving heat all over the place. This game marks the Trojans’ winless streak for the four big ten games they played so far. Currently, they are sitting on a 4-5 record. If you’re a Trojans fan, things must be going rough for you. ” I don’t handle losing very well. It hasn’t happened much in my career. That part of it is unacceptable, “Lincoln Riley said after the game. Well, even the Trojans officials can’t get over USC’s current state, and as per the latest rumor, they can fire Riley after this season.
In the latest video clip shared by Yahoo Sports from their official Instagram account, an analyst highlighted Riley’s buyout amount at the Trojans. “There’s almost nothing bigger than coaching buyouts. I’m going to give a list of teams and fan bases and schools that might want to move on from their guy, but kind of can’t.”

“Lincoln Riley at USC. That’s a private school with the full details, but I think Ross, you reported $90 million as his buyout. That’s what I have heard. I would be safe to say that it’s jumbo fisheries money at least, right?” A $90 million buyout contract, seriously? Well, yeah! We’re talking about Lincoln Riley. Although USC is witnessing setbacks this season, we can’t question Riley’s record.

USC’s offense, led by starting quarterback Miller Moss, is failing to make waves. Although their playoff hopes drowned, they still hold a thin chance to qualify for a bowl game if they secure two more wins. Besides, in their last game against Washington, Moss has thrown three interceptions, after which Riley has now taken a desperate step to save his coaching job.

Although Riley has not proclaimed it yet, their starting QB, Miller Moss, will be replaced with transfer quarterback Jayden Maiava. A post shared by the athletic CFB says, “USC is making a quarterback switch from Miller Moss to Jayden Maiava after losing four of its last five games, a source tells the athletic.”

After showing back-to-back failures in the nine games that he played, Moss saw it coming any day soon. During his last game, he completed 30 of 50 passes for 293 yards with two touchdowns and threw interceptions. A game that left the Trojans with a 4-5 record. On the other hand, Riley’s new replacement, Maiava, holds quite stronger stats compared to Moss.
As a freshman at UNLV, he had completed 224 of 353 passes for 3085 yards, along with scoring 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. But we can’t put it on Moss for USC’s current position. He has played some splendid games as well. Say in the game against Penn State and Maryland, Moss was 54 of 84 for 556 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. However, now it seems the only way for Riley to save the Trojans from losing more games.
