Did Caleb Williams' theatrics deserve Tom Brady's 'USC School of Drama' jab?

We are into the third quarter of a nail-biting Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers head-on clash. The second quarter looked sloppy for both teams, but somehow, the Bears managed to finish the first half with the upper hand (10-7). However, rookie QB Caleb Williams is still feeling the heat. The USC alum is having a decent game so far, although most of the damage he’s doing is happening through his legs rather than arms.

However, one play didn’t do that much to improve Lincoln Riley’s Heisman winner’s image. Trying to get a first down on a drive in the second quarter, Caleb oversold a push from the Packers’ DB to get a penalty call. As soon as William stepped out, Packers safety Xavier McKinney made a soft pad contact that wasn’t even worth a penalty call. But the 15-yard penalty prevailed solely due to how dramatically Caleb played it out.

A 15-yard gain for unnecessary roughness. It didn’t help Caleb’s case that Tom Brady was calling the game, and the GOAT of the NFL couldn’t help but take a shot at USC for Caleb’s acting. Brady dubbed it as a typical product of ‘The USC School of drama.’

But keep your eyes wide open, folks! The USC Trojans guy is flipping through the bad calls. He is taking over the Bears’ offense. The game continues. Currently, the score is 14-13 in favor of the Packers.

It remains to be seen how the night treats William and the Bears in the remainder of the game, but we can see a bright opportunity looming large for the NFL rookie, as his former coach might fit the Bears’ current OC need.

Can Lincoln Riley reunite with Caleb at Chicago?

Have an interesting take?

Chicago Bears has not been having a great season so far. While they looked to revitalize the program and come fresh to the season, the current stat says they are no better than they were in the previous shots. They dropped the balls in a handful of chaotic games, sitting 4-5 at the moment. While the entire team has to be on the hot seat, head coach Matt Eberflus bears most of the blame. Fans turn furious, demanding an instant change and the regents can do nothing but pay heed.

To be honest, Eberflus has hit the bottom line of the season well. Now the question is, who is the next to carry the torch? Who will be the ideal fit to take up a struggling team and turn it around? Keeping Caleb Williams in mind, Trojans coach Lincoln Riley might be the answer. He doesn’t look like a bad choice at all.

The former Oklahoma head coach is already making the talks about a potential NFL jump. If he chooses the Bears and vice-versa, it would be a jackpot for Williams, who had three years of gel (one in OU and another two years in USC) with the veteran coach. Riley can execute everything that is needed to chisel out the best from a prized signal caller like Williams.
