Well, Bill Belichick’s rollercoaster ride with GOAT Tom Brady and his headline-making NFL drama is old news. At 72, Belichick has seen it all in the NFL. Now college football fans are eager to see if he can bring his winning ways to the college game. Looks like the University of North Carolina has already shown courage, taking the first step to count on Belichick as their new HC. And it’s high time that they seal the deal.

After all, apart from his notable history back in the NFL, that man is turning heads in his personal life at this age. With this, the calls just got louder for Belichick to become the next UNC HC.

What makes Bill Belichick the right fit for UNC?

Belichick is likely to make a return after almost a year of calling it quits with the Patriots. And who is going to join hands with one of the most controversial figures in the NFL? Chances reign supreme for UNC as they had let go of their 73-year-old HC Mack Brown. From then on, their AD Bubba Cunningham started to show interest in Belichick and even interviewed the six-time legendary Super Bowl champion. Now that confirmation awaits from his end, CFB analysts Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger, and Pat Forde tried to make things easier for UNC in the wooing Belichick game. On the Yahoo Sports podcast, Wetzel pleaded, “How great would it be for Bill Belichick to take over at North Carolina? Please get Bill Belichick at North Carolina.”

Forde too supported his fellow analyst, stating, “We don’t ask for a lot on this show, we don’t ask for a lot.” But what makes them believe that the ex-NFL HC is going to be a good fit for UNC? Well, his accolades are enough to earn him a spot. After all, that man has won the NFL Coach of the Year three times. He also holds the NFL record for the most career wins by a HC. But it looks like the analysts are not quite interested in the stats.

Wetzel pointed out something interesting. “People think those press conferences are who Bill Belichick is he just he just did that stuff …HE’S 72 with a 24-YEAR-OLD GIRLFRIEND!” he said. So how does his personal life have anything to do with his coaching role? Here Forde came to help us out as he believes, “He can clearly relate to younger people.” But no matter how desperate the analysts got about the UNC x Belichick collab, looks like the program has some other plans.

UNC’s secret plan for the next HC amid Bill Belichick buzz

UNC tried to strike their luck with the Pittsburgh Steelers OC, Arthur Smith, even before Belichick. Rather than running after Smith for his talents, a money angle is involved in it. After all, Smith is the son of the billionaire Frederick Smith. He is the owner of the $5.4 billion international shipping and courier giant, FedEx.

What’s your perspective on:

Is UNC making a mistake by not sealing the deal with the legendary Bill Belichick?

Have an interesting take?

That’s only and only because landing the billionaire’s son would have helped them with the easy flow of cash. And as we all know, college football loves to shower riches to land top recruits and get an edge in the NIL race. Sadly, the Arthur Smith plan turned out to be a big flop for UNC. The Steelers coach turned down their offer, stating, “I’ve got one of the best jobs in football right now. There’s a lot to be said, too, about can’t put a price on personal and professional happiness, which I have here.” So now, it is finally time for Belichick to take over?

Unfortunately, no! As analyst Andy Staples stated, they could have easily hired Bill Belichick the same day they fired Mac Brown. He then stated, “I feel like they’re kind of stringing us out because there’s the person they’re going to hire is coaching a game this weekend.” Looks like UNC had its eyes on one of the conference HCs. Hold tight; soon we’ll know the name!
