Is Dylan Rizk the new Hail Mary king, challenging Shedeur Sanders' spotlight?

Well, who could have thought the game against the UCF Knights and Arizona Wildcats would take this interesting turn? In today’s game, the Knights have been dominating the Wildcats straightway since the start, with the score 49-12. That’s not the happening part; the team is not only shining bright on the scoreboard but also showcasing excellence on the field. And one such example of that is Knights star quarterback, Dylan Rizk.

Today UCF Knights star quarterback Dylan Rizk connected with tight end Randy Pittman Jr. for an unbelievable 48-yard Hail Mary touchdown to extend their lead against Arizona just before halftime. Fox College Football, taking to X, confirmed the news, saying, “48-YARD HAIL MARY TD TO END THE HALF!!!”

It looks like Colorado Buffs star quarterback Shedeur Sanders got a competitor. We saw Shedeur extending his arm to tie a game (eventually winning it in OT) against the Baylor Bears’ earlier in the season. It’s the Hail Mary fever! Remember the Commanders-Bears NFL game last Sunday? Well, let’s freshen your memory.

Commanders rookie QB Jayden Daniels scrambled (for what seemed like hours) and threw a Hail Mary pass and connected with a receiver to win the game in the dying seconds of the 4th quarter. Phew!! Such plays are always goosebumps-worthy! We understand that the Rizk throw wasn’t to win or tie the game at the end of the game, but it was still breathtaking.

For now, the game is under full control of the UCF Knights. The Wildcats are having another terrible outing after being outsmarted by the Buffs a few weeks ago, and now their weak gameplay against the Knights continues their record of terrible execution. For now, let’s discuss UCF’s game-changing player, Dylan Rizk, and his position in the team.

Dylan Rizk changing fate of the Knights

Is Dylan Rizk the new Hail Mary king, challenging Shedeur Sanders' spotlight?

Have an interesting take?

Well, it looks like UCF Knight’s head coach, Gus Malzahn, saw it coming. As before, their showdown against the Wildcats, he made major changes in the team. Before their showdown, Dylan Rizk was appointed as the starting quarterback for today’s game.

The team was facing a serious concern with their quarterback situation in the ongoing season as their star QB, KJ Jefferson, started the first five games but got benched after scoring 64 out of 108 passes for 1012 yards, which is his career lowest completion percentage.

Talking about Dylan Rizk’s gameplay in the season, the young quarterback completed 6 out of 10 passes, ran for 102 yards with a touchdown, and also added 31 rushing yards on four carries against BYU last week. After this, his remarkable performance reflected his abilities, and in today’s game, he finally got his big break.

However, looking at Dylan Rizk’s performance against the Arizona Wildcats suggests that the team may have benefited from making him the starting quarterback at the beginning of the season, potentially changing the overall outcome. Even though the team doesn’t have any luck for the playoffs this season, at least the best they could have done is put up a decent game.
