Looks like Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward has taken the responsibility of lifting the spirits of his peers after they had a soul-crushing loss against Georgia Tech. But only money is not enough sometimes to help others. One needs to have a good heart. Lucky are the Hurricanes players, since their teammate Ward is the owner of both good heart and heavy pockets with a $2.1 million NIL value. After all, not many are as chilled out as Ward, who had sent a strong message for his contenders.
November 9, turned out to be an ominous day for Mario Cristobal’s squad. Crushing them, Georgia Tech could fetch their first win over a top-five opponent since 2009. Early in the fourth quarter, the Hurricanes fell behind former Coastal Division for Georgia Tech. Miami’s defensive front faltered as they allowed Tech’s Jamal Haynes, who added a 16-yard scoring run. Yes, they made some mistakes but Ward in no way can allow his team to be in a sour mood! And he came up with an amazing plan. Who wouldn’t love to get gifts when nothing seems to go right? Here Ward comes to the rescue, taking his teammates out for dinner, as found in the tweet posted by On3 NIL.

But hardly did they know that some “blingy” surprise awaited them. As seen in the video, the players were waiting for their food to arrive. Instead, Ward came up with holding a big round dish in his hand. Was there any food? Nope! Instead, the QB had placed blingy chains encrusted with diamonds. There too he has been extremely thoughtful since each chain had the player’s jersey numbers on it. But what makes Ward so outgoing with his fortunes?
Well, no matter how poorly the Hurricanes perform, their QB stands strong in the NIL game. Ward now holds a worth of $2.1 million according to On3 NIL Valuation and seats on the No.8 rank among the top 100 high school and college athletes and No.5 among college football players. Even though he holds these ranks, he has never let the outside noise dominate him.
How Cam Ward steers clear of the Heisman hype
At present, the only talk that college football is up to is about which player is scoring well, and which player took a back seat, all in terms of the Heisman narrative. However, that should never be the case, since the players are getting disillusioned and forgetting their main motive. And what’s that? Winning the playoffs, folks!
For instance, one of the front runners Boise State Broncos RB Ashton Jeanty has been obsessing over landing it big in the Heisman race. His world now surrounds it as he went, “For me, what I’ve been doing hasn’t been done in 36, 37 years, so that’s something special. If I keep that up and break a record that’s been around for 36 years, I feel like you can’t really compete with that.” The same goes for the Colorado Buffaloes dual-threat Travis Hunter who is all hungry to bring Jeanty down, “If I had 95 targets on defense, what do you think I’ll have? He’s [Jeanty] got double the touches I’ve got on the offensive side of the ba-l and I still have defensive stats that’s still crazy,” And thank god Ward has marked himself safe from this rat race.

All these seem to hold no value for the Miami Hurricanes signal-caller. He instead dished out a bold claim, “My goal is not to be the Heisman trophy winner. My goal is to win football games and play for a national championship.” However, it would not be possible for Cam Ward himself to make it to the playoffs. Here he indulges in the gifting game to drive the whole team towards the big goal.
