Maybe he’s looking for a big paycheck as well. Michigan Man was revived the moment Sherrone Moore and Co. won against the Bucks. 4th win in a row and that too was done with a team that is a hollow shell of its former self. 91.87 class score for 2025 and ranked 9th in the entire country. That single turnaround against the Buckeyes was the catalyst fueling the growth in Michigan’s recruitment. The number 1 quarterback for the 2025 class? Check. Massive 4-star and 5-star influx? Check. What else is left? Oh yeah, stealing another recruit from the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Back on On3, Steve Wiltfong pointed out, “They’re making a big push for Ty Haywood.” 5-star OT coming from Ryan would be a massive addition to UM. Although Ty Haywood is committed to Bama, he still hasn’t signed the forms. With Michigan trying to make a push for him, could it be that Haywood flips over much like Bryce Underwood? Well, there is a small problem. See, Michigan ain’t the only one going for the OT.

Wiltfong pointed out that Texas Tech is making a run for the 5-star commit as well. “So is Texas Tech. We talked a little bit about that before the holiday Josh, Texas Tech has the number one transfer portal class in the country right now,” Wiltfong added. HC Joey McGuire is having the time of his life at the Raiders.

9 4-star recruits in the Tech. They could pose a major challenge for Michigan. Yeah, we know that the Bluebloods could just throw another massive NIL deal on the table and flip things around, but will they risk more millions on a potentially ‘good’ player?

See, the Underwood undertaking is a ticking time bomb. Over $10 million in, and UM fans still don’t know if it will be beneficial or not. Moore will still have access to Davis Warren (as he is potentially returning for another year) and MS State QB Mikey Keene.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Michigan's recruitment prowess outshine Alabama and Texas Tech in the race for Ty Haywood?

Have an interesting take?

However, with the amount of money Underwood has gotten, he would be expected to start right after spring practice. We gonna soon find out how that turns out. But as Wiltfong goes on, there is another team that wants Haywood.

FSU alert

Seminoles have had arguably one of the worst year ever. From natty contenders in 2023 to a 2-10 season. Mike Norvell was probably slamming his head on the wall, trying to figure out what went wrong. Oh, wait, we know. The moment Jordan Travis was injured, FSU started playing like a high school football team.

Regardless, Novell and the fans want redemption, and they also want Haywood. “Mike Norvell and the Seminoles are trying to recruit you if you can play,” Wiltfong added. No letter of intent signed means FSU will try to grab you.

However, in the race, Michigan would probably remain the favorites. More so because the Bluebloods just won their 2nd consecutive game against Bama.
